I am a
graduate student in the Masters of Science, Applied Behavior
Analysis program of psychology at CSULA. I also have a Masters in
Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University and will sit for my
Marriage and Family Therapy license soon. I have worked with
children with autism for the past 5 years. I began my training at
UCLA through class work and fieldwork under Dr. Ivar Lovaas and
continued at the Lovaas Institute for Early Intervention as an
employee. I then became an employee of Autism Behavior Consultants
in Redondo Beach, CA. I started there as a Supervisor, then became
a Program Coordinator and am currently training to be a Regional
Director. I love the company I work for and would recommend it to
any interested students wanting to work with children with autism
through behavioral intervention. I am very interested in Verbal
Behavior and have gone to many workshops by Dr. Carbone, Dr.
Pardington, Kelly Wood, and IABA.
In addition
to working at Autism Behavior Consultants, I also currently work as
an intern at a sliding scale clinic in the South Bay where I use my
behavioral and clinical skills to treat adults, children, parents
and couples with issues of Depression, Obsessive-Compulsive
Disorder, Transgender issues, Generalized Anxiety Disorder and
Domestic Violence.
I am very
interested in research and would like to look at either Verbal
Behavior and/or Couple’s therapy as possible thesis topics. I am
also interested in reading many original works by Skinner and other
doctors of Behaviorism and would enjoy having reading/study groups
with other graduate students to help with this difficult yet
beneficial process. I hope to meet all our members soon and I am
always available through email. Lets all have a fantastic 2003-2004
school year and GO ABA!!!!!!!!!!!
