Prescription Refunds
Regarding prescriptions that did not work out for you. You can get your money
back by writing to the pharmaceutical company, explaining why the prescription
is not working out for you and they will refund your money? Your pharmacist
can give you the address. (The writer said she has done this twice.)
(Oklahoma specific is at the very bottom of this.)
Don't forget that Wal-Mart will price match so call around to all the
pharmacies on any prescription! I once had one where I was quoted up to $128!
At Walgreens (yep, Walgreens!) it was $29 and they had a $10 coupon in the
paper since it was a new store....so I got it for $19! I couldn't believe the
price differences.(SO ALWAYS COMPARISON SHOP!!)
If one does not have Internet access, they can obtain by mail a directory of
manufacturers that have programs by calling 1-800-762-4636. The name of the
manufacturer of your drug can be obtained from the Physician’s Desk
Reference, available at any library or bookstore.

MEDICAID BENEFITS FOR OKLAHOMANS http://www.kff.org/medicaidbenefits/state-OK.cfm#
(Unlike in many other states, Medicaid does not provide hearing aid benefits,
hospice, dentures or dental treatment to residents of Oklahoma.)
Oklahoma does not receive all the federal money if otherwise is entitled to
because Oklahoma does not appropriate enough state tax money required to match
available federal funds. Each state dollar spent brings in nearly three
federal dollars. Oklahoma reduced its appropriation for health care by about
$7 million from 2002 to 2003, even though the Medicaid population is growing.
Reduced state tax collections forced the Legislature to make budget cuts,
which include eliminating some health care benefits and reducing provider
payments.
