Here is a great email by Will Richard:
Forward on if you want, I just typed this to relieve some anger
today...
Well, the population of the planet was counting on the citizens of
this great country to stand up, make a difference, and vote to oust
the worst president that our country has ever experienced.
The
conflicts and problems that the Bush Administration has caused, along
with the relationships and progress that the Bush Administration has
ruined, will cause suffering for our future generations.
I personally
thought that our country had it in us to realize the seriousness of
this election, but sadly, I was mistaken.
It was impressive though, that's for sure.
Both sides rallied so many
voters that George W. himself reeled in the highest number ever for
the popular votes.
We all did show devotion and energy, whether it was
for intelligence or ignorance.
I knew the race would be close, and
even though I am not very surprised, I will be depressed and
distraught for another 4 years.
The Bush Administration's highly
negative record is going to double, and it will not be THEIR
generation that pays the heavy price, it will be mine, and it will be
my children's.
It is OUR fault for allowing Bush and Cheney to take
the office in the first place, and it is OUR fault for allowing it to
happen a second time.
The American people could have done more to
ensure that this failing administration got the boot.
We were
unsuccessful in doing so, and now as the United States of America, we
will all be forced to experience the consequences that will follow as
this Administration continues to fail.
Don't get me wrong, I am not completely pessimistic, there is hope.
We
will have to support Bush as our commander in chief and fight for what
we believe in here at home as much as possible.
We must educate our
citizens, in the broadest sense of the term, for the next four years,
so that then, we can start whittling away at the Republican control of
this country.
With all that I have experienced, learned, and seen, I
have never been more disappointed in my own Homeland than I am today.
Fortunately, I am a realist.
Therefore I am always looking towards
tomorrow with a smile, trusting in the greater good of humanity, and
knowing that anything is possible.
In other words, don't worry, I
won't be an asshole about it.
Goodbye and see you in Canada!!!
Just kidding Grandpa...
Love
Will
