Waste Oil Burner

so heres my famous waste oil burner. It runs on pure motor oil from cars

I started with this old minnow pale that I found laying around the house

It measures 9 inches high x 9 inches in diameter. I used a dremel tool to cut holes in the bucket, round hole for the flame output, square hole for the blower.

This is the preheat coil for the burner. It's just some 3/8" copper tubing wrapped around a 5 inch diameter soup can. The cardboard is the inner form, so the coil gets embedded into the refractory.

These are the intake and output pieces. The round one is the output. It's made out of a coffee can.The square one is the intake(were the blower goes)thats made out of a piece of sheet metal bent into a square duct.

Here is it all put together. The oil drip pipe has been put on and yes,It's both preheat and oil dripping. I can use either one or both at the same time.

A front view of the burner with the blower.Looks pretty good, doesn't it? (The blower came from an upright vacuum cleaner.

I will be adding more pictures when I get time to do it(or feel like it)I have more pics on this website if you want to see more pics of my burner ABYMC

this is how I start my oilburner.First I put my propane burner in to the blower intake hole. Then I start the propane burner up.

and then I adjust the regulater (on the tank)to 15psi and let that run with the lid off for 2 to 5 minutes

so now I remove the propane burner from the intake hole and turn on the oil valve alittle and let the oil run for a minute or so(with out the blower on)

I then turn on the blower and put the lid on.i then gave the oilburner a little more oil at a time.and let it get nice and hot in the burner

this is my reguler size flame I use when I melt aluminum in the furnace

well so I thought I give it somemore oil this time around.man talk about a big flame and hott.It looks alot better and hotter in person.

I thought this would be a neat picture to put in.This picture show how hot the inside of the burner gets which is about 1800deg.

well I ran out of oil in the tank.a gallon of oil at last about 1 hour.but the oil still burns in the burner for 10 to 15 minutes after shuting off the valve.

well thats my homemade oil burner hope you like it and if you have any question email me
