I stared into the mirror,
Mesmerized by my reflection,
Blinded by the conceiving forces.
One force emits an image,
while the other reveals the real me.
The inner drive is the strongest force,
which pulls me to glance deeper.
I seem to have drowned in this evaluation.
Silently being tortured by what's inside.
Being seen in the mirror and sliced down till I cry.
Disgraced yet again, by my sinful nature.
I attempt to run, but never move.
I stand there like a block of ice,
Gazing intensely in the judgment glass.
The frame shows me the truth,
depressing as it seems.
I just stare and stare and always return,
for the day of a better image,
for the day of a better me.Back Home 10-3-03 Ashley Lauer
