Launch Party
It’s been posted on our site
for months now and the time is soon upon us.
The new official Track Techniques Records website will be up
and running in February! To
commemorate this event we are having the jump off party of 2004.
The Track Techniques Site Launch
Party is slated for early February and will be held at Sonar, a
popular hip-hop/ drum and bass club in the heart of Baltimore.
The cost will be a mere $10 and will give attendees the
opportunity to hang with the Track Techniques all stars.
The event will be DJ’ed by Track Techniques’ own Zu Keeny
and DJ Evolve, and hosted by none other than co-CEO of Track
Techniques, Reign Man. Not
only that but there will be a special live performance by Eyekon,
which is always a treat.
This is a momentous occasion
that we want to share with all of our friends and fans so what was
originally an invite only party is now open to the public.
Sign up now for the mailing list and you could win a free
ticket. Don’t
miss this special night. Check back with us soon and get all the
information. Hope to see you there!

The
Track Techniques Website Launch Party!!!
What up
Track Techniques fans! It’s been up on this site for months that
we’re working on a new site; a site that will bring all the Track
Techniques artists to you the way that they should be; and the wait
will soon be over.
It is
expected that sometime in late January the new site will be up. This
is notable for a number of reasons. To start you will be able to finally get on and chat in
forums about your favorite TT releases.
Plus you’ll be able to buy everything you could ever want
related to Track Techniques, including T-shirts, CD’s, posters and
more. Also, we are
having a site release party.
This
is an invite only event that will have all the Track Technique super
stars in attendance, as well as industry insiders.
It’s a suite and tie affair and the only way to get an
invite is to be part of the Track Techniques community.
By signing up for our mailing list you automatically enter to
get invited to one of the most exclusive parties of 2004. It’s being held at an undisclosed location so sign up now
and maybe you to could be there!
Good luck and have a safe holiday season.
PEACE.

Eyekon at the Vault
This past Saturday Eyekon gave
his first performance to a packed room in the basement of the Vault.
His performance was part of the annual Eat Your Neighbors
Christmas concert. There
were a total of fifteen acts that played during the show both
upstairs and downstairs, but when Track Technique’s Reign Man
stepped to the mike in the all to crowded basement area, and asked
who was there to see Eyekon, the crowd went crazy.
The night started with Track
Technique’s own DJ Evolve spinning a mix of hip-hop and soul music
to get the people loose and to invite them in as the entered.
People rolled in as the night wore on and some alt rock bands
played. The upstairs
was a mix of bands that ranged from punk to funk.
Down stairs was lower key, featuring some acoustic performers
and less rowdy bands. By
the time that Eyekon’s scheduled time of 11:15 came around the
room that resembles more of a bar than a performance space, was wall
to wall with people trying to vie for space to see Eyekon and fellow
performers Mass Comm and Zu Keeny.
The event planners were unorganized and unexpectedly brought
an unscheduled beat boxer to the front to do a set, pushing back
Eyekon’s show to almost midnight. When it was finally time to
start his set Eyekon was prepared to deliver a show that the fans
would not soon forget.
As he took the mike
however, Eyekon did a quick sound check and found that the mike he
had wasn’t working properly.
Not only that, but neither of the mikes for Mass Comm or Zu
Keeny were working at all. After pleading to the soundman several times, Eyekon could
not keep the people waiting any longer.
Following a quick introduction from Reign Man, he ripped
through his set changing speeds like a NASCAR driver.
With Mass and Zu belting out their parts over the
accompanying music, which was being played over the sound system
with sub-par quality, he was able to work through the sound
difficulty. Throughout
the show Eyekon asked the soundman to fix the mikes and to turn the
music up to no avail. Regardless
the show went off surprisingly well.
Relying on his charisma and stage presence, as well as a
tight program arranged by himself, Mass and Zu, he kept the crowd
involved, making their heads bob as well as making them laugh with
some welcomed surprises.
When asked about the show
via a phone interview Eyekon said, “I just wanted to give the best
show possible. We ran
into so many problems, some that were visible and others that were
more like, ‘behind the scene’ stuff.
Still, we were happy with our performance, even though the
event itself was ill planned and the sound was garbage.” He
expressed that he wishes he could’ve been in control of the
situation better and promised that at his next outing the crowd will
not be disappointed. “We’re
going to take every necessary precaution to make sure that nothing
like that happens again. Even
with all the problems,” he said, “it seemed like everyone was
really into it and enjoyed themselves.”
No doubt.
