Defending.
Defending on UT2003 is a very important role, whether you are defending a flag, a person carrying a flag or whatever you are defending I am about to tell you how to defend really well.
Defending the flag.
If you are defending a flag it is best to keep your distance from the flag but make sure you keep it in sight, cover the main entrances the enemy will use to get to your flag and take anyone out before they get to your flag.
If they do manage to get your flag, chase after them and get it back, DO NOT STAY IN DEFENSE POSITION, there is no point defending a flag that isn't there.
Defending the flag carrier.
Here are some simple steps to how to defend a flag carrier.
Always stand in front of the f.c (flag carrier) if you get shot it doesn't matter so much, it is better that you get shot than the flag carrier (try not to get killed though beacuse when you are dead they may kill the f.c aswell).
If the f.c drops the flag pick it up and run away from the danger area so that you have time to recruit backup and the offense can return your flag.
