Sub story Yuiko
Cain and his clan being vampires went out seeking human blood one night and happen upon a
small house of a mid class family in the mountainous region of Japan (this is after Cain
comes to asia.) The small family of 3 hides there only daughter Yuiko beneath the house.
Yuiko huddles eyes closed tightly as she hears the scream of her parents above. After she
thinks the killers are gone she comes up and sees her parents dead. Not old enough was she
to know of vampires, she took her parents death at face value and only assumed they were
killed by the sword. The smell of blood from the attack had sheilded her scent from Cain
and his followers. As she sat outside her house in the dark of night, another traveler
came along. He looked upon the mess than went to calm Yuiko. He said to her "My name
is Loden. I am sorry for your loss, and know that you mostlikely want to seek revenge for
your parents. I must however try to stop you. You will never be able to kill those whom
have slain your parents unless you become like them... and I hope that never happens to
you." Yuiko only looked at the man, not understanding all of what he had said. Loden
looked over the scene knowing all to well what had done it, he than offered to take care
of Yuiko, and she only nodded. They than left for a town nearby.
Loden in his own house outside of town. He had built beneath it a basement for him to
sleep during the day, and left Yuiko to do small errands and chores. Yuiko did not
questoin why Loden sleep in the basement during the day and only went out at night, all
she knew and cared was that he took care of her and was very nice about it as well. She
admired him because he taught her how to read and write, as well as self defense for
physical fitness. As she grew she treated him more like a second father. But alas, there
peace was about to be intertupted.
Cain had gained a small upperhand in the clan war he was fighting to control Asia. To
assure his victory he sought out Loden. Cain had heard of Loden by not only rumors, but
from vampires whom joined his clan. Loden was strong and it was said which ever side he
joined would control Asia. So Cain located Loden and arrived t his house just after fall
of darkness. To Yuiko's suprise when she answered the door she saw those whom had killed
her parents. Staying calm although her heart beating fast, she let him in to she Loden.
Beneath the floorboards she heard Cain speaking of the clan wars and how he wanted Loden
to join his cause. When Loden refused, Cain mocked him for keeping a human child around
his house saying things like "Do you drink from her? I"ve noticed she has no
marks about her. Do you fancy her a daughter? (laugh,) Maybe if you join, I wont drain
her." Cain said many things more to Loden atemping to get him to join, but none
scared Yuiko more than the sound of threats of death towards her or Loden. Cain than
pushed his luck to far and Loden with one swift movement placed a scar across Cain's chest
that left a scar for all of the rest of Cain's life. Furious, but not stupid Cain left
Loden and Yuiko alone without another word.
Yuiko was puzzled by the words and things discussed by Cain, but what she truely wanted
was to kill Cain. She over heard Cain saying where he be staying if Loden changed his
mind, and that he would be in town for 3 more days waiting. Yuiko than decieded to extract
her revenge, unaware of the vampire world she was about to deal with. The next night after
Loden left to feed on the blood suplied by a nearby butcher whom helped him, Yuiko snuck
out. When she arrived at the inn in which Cain was, she snuck into the kitchen and
listened to the drunken Cain and his foloweres below. She grabed a clever and headed down
carefully into the cellar and crept around the wine and sake barrels until she was behind
Cain. She watched until she thought the time was right, and than lept to attack. Cain
caught her and prevented her from doing anything with his incrediable inhuman speed.
Looking her over he immediately knew she was Loden's, and decieded to make an example of
her to Loden. He beat her and than draged her out to the small road outside Loden's place,
and drained her of her blood till she was almost dead. He than left her there to die.
Loden returned not to long after Yuiko was left in the muddied road barely concious in the
rain. He looked over her finding the marks of being drained and did the only thing he
could to save her. He sired her, making her a vampire.
