Paint Stamping Instructions

1. Pre-wash and dry your garment if new to remove the sizing.
2. Place cardboard inside your shirt-or behind single layer projects like aprons-and place on flat work surface. Mark a straight line with masking tape across shirt.
3. Squeeze paints onto plate. Apply chosen soft paint colors to stamp designs using sponge applicator. (Tip: Cut the applicator into smaller pieces for small design areas.)
4. Once all stamp colors are applied, 'huff' on stamp to re-moisten it and stamp onto fabric using fair pressure, 'walking' your fingers all over back side. Be carefull not to let stamp slide.
Remove stamp slowly. Any thin areas can be filled in using the tip of paintbrush.
5. Allow fabric paints to dry, then add small balls of paint for ornaments, and secure See-thru stones in place. Allow project to dry flat, undisturbed, overnight.
6. When you are finished with stamp, clean with warm water and soap. An old soft toothbrush aids in cleaning paint.

Additional Tip and Project Ideas

Optional: You can add details to design or write messages (apron model shown close up at right) or words using permanent markers and a good long ruler (or masking tape lines)

Most fabrics will take the soft fabric paints well. Try making canvas purses, hats, table runners, holiday stockings, or t-towels, kid's art aprons or even table linins. You can even stamp small designs onto tennis shoes, pockets and more... the sky is the limit.
