Basic Instructions

Printing Fabric Images
1. Bring up your image in a photo program on your computer. Do NOT reverse image as fabric is printed on the front side. Reduce or enlarge image to fit your tote. I also change the "hue" setting occasionally on images to coordinate them with a chosen color theme, but this step is optional. Paste enough images on an 8 1/2" x 11" area to avoid waste of the product.
2. Place one treated fabric sheet into the printer (by itself), so it will print on the rough fabric side (not the glossy backing). Use the plain paper setting and print your images. NOTE: Keeping fabric paper as flat as possible prevents a paper jam.
3. Cut around images with sharp scissors and plan positions on your tote bag. You will paint the flat background BEFORE securing images.

Painting Your Tote's Background Colors
1. Cut cardboard to fit snugly inside pockets or zipper pouch.
2. Squeeze two brushable Soft Paint colors at a time onto palette. Marble together by stirring a little.
3. Use disappearing ink pen to mark rectangle shapes or free hand paint. Paint sections with flat brush, softly blending the colors as you go.
COLORS: For the large organizer tote I mixed varied amounts of Azalea, Grape, White and Royal Blue.
I then painted a few rectangles of green hues (Royal Blue + Lime). For the zippered pouch shown on the AMNW demo I used straight Lime Mandarin Orange and a softly stirred mix of Azalea wand white.
4. I painted the top edge trim white, and then black squares spaced 3/4" apart when white was dry.
5. Let fabric dry completely.

Iron On Images & Embellishments!

Fusing Images to Tote:
Two Tips: A) Double check that your paint is dry and will not stick to your iron by testing it on a corner. B) Also, carefully read through the order of "embellishing" in this section before adding your accents to prevent a hot iron from melting a previously secured item!
1. Refer to specific Quick Fuse fabric sheet package directions. When iron is hot, press images for recommended time, with the glossy back side down and the image facing you. Allow to cool.

Now Have Fun Embellishing!

1. Plan embellishment positions and lay out your designs. You will work with flat pieces first, and those that are ironed on.
2. Remove all 3-D accents, position fabric appliqués (water drop shapes) where desired and press with iron referring to specific package directions for temperature and time.
3. Position your Iron-On Crystals (green and blue below on the left). Carefully place a thin cloth over them and press in place (refer to package).
4. Use your embellishment kit's tube of fabric paint to secure large stones, buttons and glitter.
5. And last of all, accent your collage squares with dimensional fabric Sparkles paints and no-hole beads from the Fashion Frills kit.

ABOVE SAMPLES *Blue & Green Section (above left): After the Iron-on appliqués, blue and green crystals and blue stones were secured, Curved lines and small angled stitch marks were drawn with disappearing ink pen as a guide. Squeeze lines of Sour Apple dimensional paint over marks and allow to dry.
*Car Photo (above center): Blueberry and Sugar Plum Sparkles paint dots were added to resemble tiny beads vertically between sections. Then Sugar Plum was squeezed into the grape painted square's corner and black beads and purple glitter (Fashion Frills kits) were sprinkled over it while wet.
*Beach Photo (above right): Sugar Plum Sparkle paint was squeezed out following the photo outline, then purple glitter was sprinkled onto the paint and brushed at an angle to spread it.
*Spirals (below): Simply squeeze gold glitter paint from tube in the Fashion Frills Glitz N Glam kit in spiral shapes and sprinkle with black no-hole beads.
Allow totes to dry overnight in an undisturbed place, and you are set for your trip! Place smaller items into zipper pouches and the pouches into your bag as you organize your supplies. :)
