Basic Instructions

1. Clean and dry hands well.
2. Cut a section of clay off of the cube.
3. Roll and squeeze clay to knead it until soft and pliable.

4. To make antennae, clip 24 guage wire with wire cutters (see specific bug
projects below for length). Grasp the end of the wire with the
needle nose pliers and curl wire around the tip, then loosely around the loop.
Always leave a straight extra tail of wire length, to push into clay.

To Finish All Projects
1. Bake project on an index card placed on the back side of
cookie sheet, at 265o for the recommended length of time stated on
the Fimo Soft package, for the thickness of the project you made.
2. Cool complete then remove from card and add deatils
using a Glaze or Souffle gel type pen. Add thin layers as the
ink may run on curved surfaces.
3. When ink is dry completely, glaze your project with Fimo
glaze using the built in applicator brush and
let dry overnight.

CATTERPILLER PAPER WEIGHT

1. Cut and shape nine 3/8" lime green balls of clay, and press
together to form body.
2. Using wire cutter on pliers, cut eighteen 3/4" long pieces
of black 24 gauge FunWire for legs, and also two 1" pieces of
FunWire for antennae.
3. Shape the last ball on body to a rounded point for tail, and
add a 1/2" lime ball for head.
4. Form two 1/8" tiny white clay balls and add for eyes.

5. Bake as directed above, and when cool add black dots on eyes
and a rippled mouth with black.

ANT BINDER CLIP/PHOTO HOLDER

1. Form an egg shape ball, a smaller oval ball and a large teardrop
ball of Metallic Green clay, and press together as shown.

2. Cut 8 pieces of black 24 gauge wire to 1" long each.
3. Curl the end of each into a loop for feet and antennae,
and press into clay for legs, arms and on ant's head.
4. Bake as directed above and cool. Paint the white eye, let ink
dry, then paint a black dot on the eye.
5. Draw grass blades on the binder clip bottom edge and when dry,
glue ant onto clip with 7800 adhesive. Prop flat while
drying so ant doesn't slide.

log shape. Press neck onto body firmly. Now press a toothpick
only half way into the neck and body.

and press pointed end on the sides of earaser 'pool'.
4. Press a medium size green clay ball onto toothpick for head.
Prop the head up with a metal binder clip (for baking).

white clay balls to each eye.

Draw a red mouth and black dots for eyes.

2. Curl the rope into a "W" shape and slightly bend down one
end for the head. Pinch the other end for a pointed tail.
3. Form and add two white 1/8" balls of clay for the eyes. Use your
pinky fingernail to press a smile mouth onto face.

4. Cut two 4" pieces of plain 18 gauge FunWire and spiral for
antennae. Press into head side by side with spiral going opposite directions.

Additional Bug Project Ideas

It's also fun to make "Ladybug Backpack Pins" by gluing a
metal bar pin back with 7800 near the top edge of he back
of lady bugs. Or try making a "Belt Loop Bug" by twisting wire
around a pencil and then twisting the straight ends together to
form a loop to add a short ball chain to. These bugs
can have wild colors and designs as they are make believe bugs.
