The typical life span of a horse is about twenty years. With crossbreds its slightly longer.A Working horse is reckond to be old at the age of 17, the legs usually being the firsty to fail. The world record lifespan of a horse is sixty-two years, for an eighteen-century horse called Old Billy, that was born in 1760 and died in 1822. he was working till the age of fifty-nine. People aren't sure if he were just a remarkable horse or two old billies accidently or purposefully condensed into one, wich did occure often, back then. The oldest poney that lived till the age of fifty four, in France. The oldest race horse went till forty-two years. His name was Tango Duke in Austalia, 1935-78. Their are many exceptional records, but of course they are very, very unsual.
