NEW! OUR Top 10
1.Ohio State
Coming off being crowned National Championship, there is nothing in the way of this happening again. They are loaded. If Clarett goes uninjured count on 1700-2100 yards & 20-25 td's. Maybe even a trip to NYC and a return trip with the heisman. Then there's Chris Gamble, who may be the next Deion Sanders, and playing the positions Charles Woodson did, could also bring the trophy home. Possibly 1,000 yards receiving with around 8 td's on offense and around 6 int's on defense. And with returning starting QB back, Craig Krenzel back, Michael Jenkins, a 1,000 yard receiver, and many others, this team is the one to watch.

2.Miami
Call me crazy, but I think Miami will beat out Oklahoma at the 2 spot. Maybe not in the polls, but to me they do. They get loose Dorsey, Johnson, and McGahee. In return they get a drastically improving Brock Berlin, who had a good bowl game. Then they have Frank Gore, who was supposed to start ahead of McGahee until he got hurt and is a heisman hopeful, and Jared Payton, Walter's son. This kid has it in the blood. The two can deliver a dynamic one-two punch and become their own version of thunder and lighting. Then there's Kellen Winslow, another heisman hopeful who is posibly better then Andre Johnson. He is to quick for linebackers to cover and to strong for db's. Throw in some blocking skills and this guy is good, I mean real good. The defense looks good also. Watch for Derrick Crudup to start a few games also. That's the reason I think they're better then Oklahoma.

3.Oklahoma
Another championship contender. They lost Quentin Griffith, which may hurt them. Jason White will be good, not great. But it appears in most cases the championship team's QB isn't amazing. They do ahve a good line though with center Vice Carter. But overal, there offense flat out isn't championship caliber. But , that's where there defense steps in. The best in the Nation last year, returns even more stacked. 9 starters return including, 2 db's who picked up 6 int's each last year in Brandon Everage & Derrick Strait. They also have the improving Lance Mitchel who had 124 tackles last year. They picked up one of the top Juco player in the the nation with Donte Nicholson. This defense is stacked and remember, if you doubt there offense, defense wins championships!

4.Kansas State
Kansas State will be an elite team. The reason is because of there running game.Darren Sproles is capable of 2000 yards and 20 td's and El Roberson, th quarterback, is capable of 1500 yards and 20 td's. If they reach those numbers, they will be unstopable. They are both heisman hopefuls. On defense there is Andrew Shull who had 10 sacks last year and will probably get atround 14 this year. There is also Josh Buhl who had 135 tackles last year and can get 155-160 this year. K-State is loaded defensivly and offensivly so they have a chance to be special!

5.Auburn
Auburn is stackd at the halfback position. 4 players who would start on most other teams including, heisman hopeful Carnel Williams. But watch out for Ronnie Brown who could pull of a 1200 yard rushing performance for the year. At quarter things aren't looking too bad either. Jason Campbell is a returning starter who will be good enough to carry the tigers far. One defense they are looking good. Carlos Dansby is a great player and you can look for a possible 10 sack season. With 16 starters returing Auburn will be a team to look out for.

6.Texas
Texas lost Chris Simms which is the reason for them slipping this far. They have the probable #1 wideout in the country with Roy Williams(heisman candidate) and a top 10 receive in B.J. Johnson. They also have Cedric Benson (another heisman candidate). But the question comes at the quarterback position where Chance Mock gets his first shot. One defense they look good. They loose Cory Redding but gain a healthy Nathan Vasher, who may also be a heisman hopeful do to his speed and athleticism. With 17 starters back though, they may be able to overcome the loss of Chris Simms.

7.Michigan
With John Navarre improving Michigan can be great this year. He is a solid QB who just seems to get things done when they need to be done. At wideout John Navarre has a great target to throw to in Bratylon Edwards. I wouldn't be surprised if this kid is on his way to NYC. He is talented, fast, athletic, and has some size. And with Chris Perry, Michigan's running game will be good too. Look for up to 1500 yards from Perry. At defense they have 6 returning starters. Lloyd Carr loves his front 7 and who wouldn't. There defense is solid and offense is even better. Watch out Buckeyes, here come the Wolverines!

8.Virginia Tech
With Kevin Jones, one of the nations finest running back and a heismann hopeful back, Virginia tech's running game already looks good. At QB they have Bryan Randall, who was solid last year. But the one to watch out for Atlanta Falcons phenom QB Michael Vick's brother Marcus. He has speed, arm strength, and accuracy. He may step in and become a heisman candidate. Another heisman hopeful is DeAngelo Hall who is another Deion type player who plays everything. The Hookies return 18 starters and look to be one of the elite.

9.USC
USC may have lost Carson Palmer, but that's not stopping them from becoming a dominant team again. Just because of the great receivers, the new QB will have an easy job. The QB position is up for grabs still. At wideout Mike Williams is bound for a possible 1500 yard season. After going over 1200 his freshman year, the man has a lot of hype. In the backfield is Justin Fargas who will likely have a 1200 yard season. On defense one solid freshman is getting a lot of attention. That is Darnell Bing. They return 14 starters. How far will they go without Carson is the question.

10.Pittsburgh
The quarterback, halfback, and wideout positions are all being filled by players returning. At quarterback there's Rod Rutherford. He's an improving quarterback who should be great this year with an over 3,000 yard season. At halfback returning is Brandon Miree who barely missed the 4 digit mark last year, should make it this year. At wideout is the heisman candidate, Larry Fitgerald. He is a top 3 receiver in the country. Look fro possibly 1500 yards out of him. He will help Rod Rutherford and Rod Rutherford will help him. On defense, Gerald Hayes(133 tackles) returns along with Claude Harriott(9.5 sacks). The defense look solid and when the BCS comes out, this team will be aroud the top!
