Special note on keloid scarring - salt is the enemy in the long run when dealing with keloids. Salt - on the body is consistently produced and emitted by the skin in sweat. However, one way that seems to work is to find out what your personal acid balance is (use a sheet of litmus paper) - once you know if you are faintly acidic (or very) or faintly basic (or very). After you know this you need to cleanse your wound with an agent which matches your acid balance (as in is either basic or acidic - it doesn't have to be extreme on either side - just distinctly on your "skin's side" of the acid balance line) . . .

Simply stated - salt is also produced by combining a base and an acid - usually in a medium of water under mild or extreme heat. Let's add this up with an example - you find out that you are basic, and you add to you skin a compound which is acidic (like a peel - or alpha hydroxy acid cream) - you sweat - and you are at 98.8 degrees farenheight. You have naturally produced the equation that shall produce a salt - which is what initiates the process of keloid scarring.
