Hampton Labradors started in 1998 when we purchased our first Labrador, Winfield's Lake Breeze, WC, CGC. We are located on 72 acres of apple orchards, fields & woods for our dogs to run. A favorite thing for them to do in the fall & winter is eat apples or dig them out of the snow. When we started we worked primarily in obedience and later went to a few conformation shows and were "bitten" by the show bug. From there we joined the Iroquois Labrador Retriever Club, National Labrador Retriever Club and the Labrador Owner's Club where we've met great friends & breeders and have furthered our knowledge of the breed. We also do field training with the dogs, which is also great fun. The dogs just LOVE doing what they were bred to do! We breed for temperament, soundness & type. A Labrador should be of a kind & gentle nature. As quoted by the AKC standard, "ideal disposition is one of a kindly, outgoing, tractable nature; eager to please and non-aggressive towards man or animal." We have two young children so the need for a gentle temperament is of utmost importance. All breeding stock have appropriate health clearances, such as clear hips, elbows & eyes. We try and make the best decisions possible to keep our puppies sound & give them a long & healthy life with their families. Please enjoy your visit and sign our guestbook before leaving.
