Rachid has been my best friend since the primary school. Next year, he will go to France. He is very happy, and he feels extremely excited about the new experience, because he will meet other people, and he will make new friends. But how will his life be like in the new culture. Firstly he will find the behaviour of the people unusual, bizarre and unpredictable. In addition to that he will feel anxious and not at ease. In the next stage he will understand a little and will accept the behaviour of the people. As a result, he will feel less isolated, and he will behave like them. By the end, my friend, Rachid, will have felt comfortable after having experienced culture shock, so he will enjoy being in the new culture, and he will function well in the culture of the host country.
