Video:
Provider Information at PHCS
Treatment
The video opens with a photo of Matt looking frustrated.
We hear him muttering and banging on the keyboard. A photo of
Sara appears and we hear her ask Matt what's going on. A photo
of both of them appears, accompanied by their conversation. Matt
explains that he needs to verify a doctor's information for a
member, but complains that there are so many screens in Facets,
he doesn't know where to look for the information. Sara offers
to help and asks Matt to tell her what he knows about the situation.
Matt begin telling Sara about Dr. Jones. As he does,
we see simple drawings that illustrate each piece of information,
as if Matt were drawing on a piece of paper. Each image first
appears as a close up, then zooms out to a basic diagram showing
the relationships between each item. Matt starts with a stick
figure labeled Dr. Jones, then he adds description and images
representing her main office, home office, and group. He ends
with the hospital and laboratory. As he finishes his description,
he asks Sara, "There's so much information, how do you know
where to start?"
Sara replies "It's actually not that complicated,
once you know the logic. Here, I'll show you." As Sara begins
her explanation, a text box appears containing the main bullets
for the application she is describing. The image then zooms out
to Matt's diagram, placing the application name next to the appropriate
item. When she is finished, each of the items in the diagram have
been described and matched with an application.
Matt says, "Ok, I think I get it. If I need
information about the provider, I look in Common Practitioner,
but if I need information about the provider's office location,
including their effective date, I look in Practitioner, right?"
As Matt continues to briefly summarize the information and Sara
reinforces his comments, each item is highlighted in the diagram.
Finally we cut back to one last photo of Matt and Sara as he thanks
her and wraps up the scenario.
