Race Report::
The track had changed totally for round 7
of the Wildman series. It was a long fast flowing design that had
been power harrowed then rolled and packed down the day before the event
in case of rain.
Grant Bittle holeshot the Wildman on his YZ250 but it
was Damon Smith who was out front by the end of lap 1 ahead of his brother
Nigel (pictured left). Brad Exton, Grant Bittle and Nathan MacAlwee
rounded out the top five.
Over 50 Riders launched out of the gate at the start of
the Wildman which made for some intense battles throughout the field, no
more so than up front where Brad passed Nigel for 2nd on lap 2 but crashed
hard on lap 2 gifting back 2nd place to a charging Nigel Smith who was now
in search of Damon.
The two brothers ducked it out until lap 8 when Nigel
put the pass on his brother and made it stick, meanwhile in the pack Scott
Wilkins was making progress and had made his way up to 8th after a bad
start left him at the back of the pack.
Nigel led out the rest of the race taking the checkered
flag on lap 1, with Damon Smith, Tony Cooksley, Dave Wallace and Nathan
Macalwee rounding out the top 5.
