4. The side of the connector next to my thumb contains the positive wire going to the coil, and the other wire is the negative wire to the coil. You will need to cut these wires about 1-2" from the connector. Then attach female and male quick-connectors to these wires so that that they can be quickly reconnected later if you decide to uninstall the MSD unit in the future.
