Live Sim For First Round!

I said it a few times before but I just want to remind everyone that there will be a live sim for the first round of the playoffs on June 22nd at 7:30pm. The chat is expected to open at about 7:00pm for teams to talk a little trash, make trades talks and give me time to prepare for the sim and then I will sim live game by game. It will be the whole first round of the playoffs. I hope to see a lot of people there on AIM tommorow night. I know a few Gm's have asked for a live sim so I am making one for you guys. Hopefully there will be a lot of people there and the people who want to make their early trade talks for next season can make their trade talks there.
I also wanted to let you guys know that next season's first round playoffs series' will be moved to 7 games series' instead of 5. CSL will be making the change for the 1996 CSL playoffs so this season will be the last season of 5 game first round series'. Again, good luck to all of the team's in the playoffs tommorow night and I hope to see you guys there live.

1995 Playoffs Are Coming!

It is getting very close until the playoffs start and things are getting good already. The playoff brackets are up in case you still could not figure out who you are playing. There are many great matchups to be played and the playoffs start June 22nd at 7:30pm eastern time when the first round will be simmed live in a AIM chat room. So be sure to get into the AIM chat room for the live on June 22nd if you want live results! There are a few great matchups to look forward to in this first round and this could be the best CSL playoffs yet. I also want to give you guys a few reminders about things going on at the message boards. First reminder is that there is a GM check in at the message boards and a few Gm's did not check in yet. Whatever teams do not check in before June 29th will be fired and replaced by new Gm's. The next reminder is to check out the players who want to re-sign post at the message boards. This has a list of players in last year contracts who have made offers to re-sign with their teams. Some decided to test free agency and some of the players made offers to re-sign and this could be important for most teams. And the final and third thing I wanted to say is that the League schedule for the remainder of this season and all of next season is posted at the message boards too. Be sure to check out all of that stuff and good luck to all teams who will be in the CSL playoffs which are set to start up June 22nd at 7:30pm eastern. I hope to see you all there on AIM.

GM Check In!

I want every Gm to check the message boards and check in soon. All Gm's have 10 days to check into the message boards and whoever does not check in by that time will lose their team. It is important that all Gm's check in soon. There is other good news or bad news for some at the message boards too. The list of players who want to re-sign with their teams is posted there too. It is required that every team posts there. The list of players who want to re-sign are non-negotiable offers made by the players. Some players want too much, some do not want enough while others are going to be testing free agency. Top players that are asking to re-sign are Larry Bird, Latrell Sprewell and Toni Kukoc. But there are great players that decided to test free agency and now every team will have a chance at signing in the offseason. Top players who did not re-sign are Tom Gugliotta and the Rockets duo of Shaquille O'Neal and Alonzo Mourning. But to re-sign the players you need to check out the message boards, go the GM check in first, then check out the list of players who want to re-sign and see who wants to come back.

MJ Wins 3rd CSL MVP!

The season is finally over! Some people are focusing on who will be returning to their team that is in last year contracts, some will be focusing on the draft now knowing that it is coming up, most will be focusing on the playoffs that are set to start June 22nd but Let's take a look at the regular season awards for 1995! For some people this is a big day and they are getting credit for an amazing season while for others they will be feeling screwed out of an award or they just realise they suck and they are not good enough for an award. But the obvious Major award is the MVP award. This season's MVP has now won his 3rd CSL MVP award and is known as the greatest player of all-time. Michael Jordan had a career year, with a bad team. But Michael Jordan did lead the Pistons into the 8th and final playoff spot for the second straight season and totally dominated the league with 35.1ppg, 7.8rpg, 4.5apg and Jordan also won the All-League first team SG position and he was on the all-league defensive team too! Another Great year for MJ. As good as it was to see the greatest player of all-time win that award, it was nice to see the other bawards given out too. Kevin Garnett of the Hornets grabbed the rookie of the year award. For a kid who was playing against high schoolers last year, Garnett really dominated. Kevin Garnett also made the all-league second team while leading the Hornets to a 37 - 45 record. Kevin Garnett averaged 19.3ppg, 8.6rpg and 3.5apg this season. The defensive player of the year award went to Dikembe Mutombo. Mutombo led the league in bpg, and lands his second CSL defensive player of the year award. Mutombo had a great season with 13.8ppg, 11.7rpg and 3.8bpg! There were also all-league first, second and third team awards, all-defensive team awards and all-rookie teams awards announced today! Also continue to check the site daily until the playoffs start for playoff brackets and other daily updates and good luck to all of the team's who made it to the playoffs for 1995.

Final Sim

Days 115, 116 and 117 are finished and the final sim of the season is next! The final sim is Days 118, 119 and 120. The final sim will decide who gets into the playoffs and who does not for some teams and it will decide playoff position for other teams. Michael Jordan and the Pistons made a end season run to get into the final playoff spot last season and Michael Jordan just moved his Pistons into the final playoff spot last sim where he scored a 57 points game in a win over the Raptors. Michael Jordan hopes to hold onto the final playoff spot in the Eastern conference again this season and with John Stockton helping him out at PG, it is definetly possible. The eastern conference playoff run is down to the Bucks, Pistons, Hawks and Nets fighting for the final two playoff spots and anything is possible in the next sim. In the western conference, the Lakers hold the final playoff spot with the Nuggets and Jazz making runs at it. The Nuggets are 0.5 games behind the Lakers and the Jazz are 1.5 games behind them. Next sim will be important for most teams. We will also find out the league's MVP, rookie of the year and other awards after next sim so it is an important sim. After that sim, the playoffs will start. The first round of the playoffs are set to start June 22nd at 7:30pm eastern and the games will be simmed live in a AIM chat room. Anyways I think this was a great season and playoffs start soon so hopefully the playoffs will go good too!

1995 Season Coming to an End

There is just 6 days remaining in the 1995 CSL season. This has been the longest season yet and it will be over in just two days. The playoff race in the East is hot with the Bucks and Hawks holding the final two playoff spots and the Pistons, Nets, Celtics and Bulls making fights to get into the playoffs. All of those teams could get in with a few wins. In the west, there is only one team that really has a chance of falling out of the playoffs and it is the Lakers. The Lakers currently hold the 8th and final playoff spot in the West and have a 0.5 game lead over the Nuggets who are right behind. The playoff race is really between the Lakers, Nuggets, Jazz and Spurs. The Race for the league's top overall record is down to just two teams. The Blazers currently hold the league's top record with a 59 - 19 record and the Sonics are fallowing 1.5 games behind with a 58 - 21 record. The Sonics will need a miracle to come back and take back the league's top record but anything is possible. The playoffs are set to start June 22nd so check the site daily for playoff news and for the results of the final 6 games!

Raptors Going Down

For the worst team of all time in CSL having already 27 wins is their 2nd best season in CSL but this team could be so much better. The Raptors hit a horrible 14 game losing streak and before that losing streak the Raptors were 27 - 35 and in the playoff race. But now 14 games later the Raptors dropped to the bottom of the East and are in just another struggling year. The Raptors still do not have their own first round pick this season and the only first round pick that the Raptors do have is the Magic and the Magic are a top team. Will the Raptors be in this same mess with another horrible season for one more year? It is beggining to look like that but fortunatly the Raptors have their 1997 and 1998 1st round draft picks so they will be hoping to land some top players then. But can the Raptors afford to take another struggling season next year? It has been a long time since the Raptors had a winning season and still could be a long time until they have another one. Their 14 game losing streak was really bad news this season because they were looking so good before it.

Trade Deadline Guide. The Success. The Failure.

Trade deadline ended just a few days ago and with 17 teams making moves on the day, there has been lots of changes around the league. Top star players were moved, just average players were moved and the bad players were all moved. There were also 9 draft picks involved so it was a big day. Mr. Elbert (Warriors Gm) took a look at all of the team's rosters involved in deals from before the trade deadline and after and graded how each team did with their deadline deals and moved. It is a great article and I suggest evryone check it out. You can view it at the message boards.

Nuggets Fall out of playoff spot.

With trade deadline over most teams should be set to end the season in the direction they want. Unfortunatly for the Nuggets, they were in the playoffs until lately. The Nuggets just went on a 5 game losing streak and they are now falling out of the final playoff position in the West. Good news is that they still have their draft pick so if they continue to lose then it will not hurt but the bad news is that they do not have a high lotto pick and would be better of making the run to make the playoffs. The Nuggets are just 1.5 games back of the San Antonio Spurs for the final playoff spot. It is unfortunate the Nuggets do not have time for another deal or roster move to put them into the playoffs but the Nuggets can get in if they can fight through this losing streak and put up a small winning streak. The Nuggets have three home games next sim so they could easily win those three and get back into the final playoff spot.

Trade Deadline Finished!

Well the trade deadline ended and there were 14 trades with 2 other deals just getting cut off for being late and not making it in on time. There were a lot of stars traded, a lot of legends were traded and a lot of role players. Every team was making moves to set up their playoff run, set up their future or they made trades for a big plan to come. There was also 3 days simmed tonight so since there were so many trdes, you all get a chance to check out your rosters and see how the players you just traded for are doing. The player of the week award in the sim for week #20 was Rik Smits of the Mavericks. The player of the month award went to David Robinson of the Heat, David Robinson was just brought into the Heat's lineup on the trade deadline. The rookie of the month award went to Kevin Garnett of the Hornets. This is the 3rd time of the season that the Hornets rookie PF won the rookie of the month award. Well check out the completed trades section of the site if you want to see all of the trades and just check around the site to see the results from last sim.

Trade Deadline!

Trade deadline is going good but still not over. The Trade deadline ends June 11th at 5:30pm eastern. There has been a lot of trades that went through tonight. We saw a lot of stars get traded like David Robinson, former MVP Terry Porter, Dikembe Mutombo, Charles Barkley and Harvey Grant!. There were so many stars traded today. Itw as huge and the deadline is not over. There were 9 deals already on this deadline, probably more to come too. Check the message boards for to see all of the trades that have been happening. But there was also a sim tonight, and it was 3 days. The sim was live and thanks to all of the Gm's who showed up live for the sim tonight. There is only 20 days remaining in the season, it is trade deadline tonight so it is definetly time to think about the playoffs. The Eastern conference playoff race to get the final spots is hot. The Hawks, Pistons, Nets, Bucks, Raptors and Celtics are all in and around the final playoff spot and could easily jump into a playoff spot or fall out. The playoff race is still good in the West too. Nuggets, Lakers, Jazz and Spurs are in a big battle for the final playoff spot in the west and the Sonics and Blazers are in a fight for the conference's top record. Right now the Sonics and Blazers are tied for the top spot but the Blazers have been hot lately and the Sonics are starting to cool off. Head to Head the Blazers and Sonics are tied 2 - 2 but the Blazers get the edge in the tie breaker. This matchup of Sonics and Blazers will decide the difference from placing 1st place and playing a team around .500 (Like Nuggets) and 3rd place which means they would play a team around .600 (Like Grizzlies) so the lead is very important. The Eastern conference championship looks safe for the Wizards. The Wizards should win this and go through the playoffs with home court advantage now.

Trade Deadline is Coming!

It is almost time for the trade deadline! The trade deadline is June 11th at 5:30pm eastern. All trades need to be finalized by then. Any trades after that could be missed and probably will not be in time. On June 10th, I will open up a AIM chat room at 7:30pm eastern for trade talks and to do a live sim with the live results. It would be nice to get a lot of Gm's there as the trade deadline approaches and many teams are still looking to make deals. This trade deadline will come fast so be sure to get all of your trade talks done as soon as possible. There are already some deals that will be put through on Day 99 and I just want to remind everyone that the 60 day trade rule will be off for the trade deadline. All players can be traded and players can be traded multiple times on the trade deadline. I hope this trade deadline will be a success for all teams in need of making trades and I hope to see many people live on AIM for the sim June 10th at 7:30 pm eastern.

CSL Baseball?

It sounds kind of weird having CSL baseball but it is true! For all of you baseball fans I suggest you sign up soon. ZLiu (Bulls Gm) is starting up the new baseball league and there are a few teams available. Check out the new section of the message boards for the list of available teams. This is league is ran by ZLiu and not me (commish) so you can ask him for any questions or concerns about that. You can check out the site by clicking here. This is just another new thing to CSL. This new league is only for CSL and CSL2 Gm's and hopefully this league will be a success. Anyways, enough about baseball and back to a real Sport! Basketball, and the sim tonight is done. The results are all up, Trade deadline is coming real soon and the Blazers winning streak has continued. The Blazers winning streak increased to 12 and the Blazers are just 0.5 games behind the league leading Sonics. The West is on fire with a good playoff battle for teams there but the East will have some teams fighting for the playoffs too. Anything can happen, trade deadline is coming soon and the season is almost over!

Blazers Heating up!

With the Blazers being in the Western conference, their Gm being suspended for 15 days and making enemies around the league you would be surprised to know that the Blazers are still a top team. And with the 9 game winning streak that they built up right now, the Blazers are just 1 game back from the league leading Seattle Sonics and with the Sonics starting to struggle, the Blazers could over take the Sonics next sim. Last sim the Blazers had three impressive wins. They had a 29 point win over the Suns where Isiah Thomas was amazing with 25 points and 8 assists. Their next game was huge because it was against the Grizzlies and the Grizzlies have been hot too and the Grizzlies are another top western conference team that the Blazers needed to fight off but they came out with a nice come from behind thre point win in the fourth quarter. Their final games was against the stacked Heat Arvydas Sabonis was too much for the Heat. Sabonis was just 1 assist away from a triple-double and the rookie is starting to heat up and making a run at the rookie of the year award! The Blazers have 3 games next sim. Their first game is against the Magic at home, and the next two are on the road. Can the Blazers use next sim as their chance to pass the Sonics in the Standings?

Winston Who?
I bet most people do not even know this guy's name but Pacers PG Winston Garland had a top performance of all time in CSL. Winston was just one rebound away from a quadruple-double in the Pacers 94 - 80 win over the Spurs on day 86. The win alone was key for the Pacers who were on a bad losing streak going into the game and things did not look good going into the game when their starting PG Joe Dumars was down with a disloacted shoulder injury but Winston stepped up and was better than ever. Winston had 21 points, 11 rebounds, 10 steals, and 9 rebounds in the game. It was just Garland's 1st triple-double in his career and before this game Winston Garland only had 1 double-double im his whole career. That performance is just amazing and maybe when Joe Dumars is back, he will be taking a seat on the bench while Winston Garland gets the start. Another amazing thing about Winston Garland is that he only played in 8 games this season so when he gets in there and gets that much time, he needs to take advantage of the time just like he did.
Western Conference Taking Off!

The records say it all so there is not much to say but the Western Conference is dominating CSL right now. The Western conference has 7 teams over .500 but the East only has 4. The Western conference also has the two top teams in the league. The Sonics and the Blazers. The past four champions were all western conference teams and the west is looking better than ever now. In the Eastern conference there are teams 9 games below .500 and still in the playoffs but in the western conference, teams that are 9 games below .500 would be 13th in the West. With all of the dominating teams in the west, will the West be able to win their 5th straight championship? The Wizards, Knicks and Magic are not going to sit there and let the West win though. The Wizards, Knicks and Magic are all top teams in the East and even though they are in a weak conference they could still be a top team in the league with the talent they have.

Sabonis wins Rookie of the Month
For the 2nd time this season Arvydas Sabonis wins rookie of the month! It looked like Kevin Garnett was the top rookie all season but Sabonis is right up there in the rookie race with him. Sabonis played great last month boosting most of his per game averages and leading his team to a 9 - 4 record during the month. Sabonis' Blazers also moved up to 3rd in the Western conference and they are just 1.5 games back from the western conference leading Sonics.

The player of the month award went to Hakeem Olajuwon of the Magic. This is Olajuwon's 6th player of the month award and Olajuwon is definetly a MVP candidate this season. Olajuwon also won the player of the week award that was given out.
League News

I just want to give a reminder to everyone that you need to submit your lineups at the message boards now. I am not taking lineups by email unless you are using the import/export function in FBB that a few of you use. So if you have FBB and use that to submit your lineup then continue to do that but everyone else needs to post your lineup at the message boards. It is required that every Gm posts their lineup at least one time every season. There is only about 40 days left in the season so get your lineup up there soon. There was also a sim in the sim world basketball championships last night so if you are in it then you can check out their site if you want to see the results.

Michael Jordan wins Player of the Week!

The sim is done and Michael Jordan wins the player of the week award for the 14th time in his CSL career. The sim results are up now and the Wizards lead the Eastern conference with a 37-16 record and the Sonics still lead the Western conference with a 38-12 record. Also I wanted to remind you guys of a few changes in case you didn't notice them yet. First off, to submit your lineups you now need to submit them at the message boards. It is required that each team submits their lineup there once each season so everyone should go and do that now to get that over with. Also I updated various things around the site. Things that were updated are the Rules, owners page and a few other minor things but the rules and owners page were the two most important things. Anyways, that's all for this sim. Check back tommorow for tommorow's results...

Welcome to the new Site!

Yes, another site design. I hope you like it this time. It is still missing some of the cool things that the last site had but those things will be added soon. For now just go with what we got and expect new things to be added. Also I don't know if you guys know about this yet but there is now a Courtside Sim League 2. CSL2 is for 29 new Gm's to compete and maybe the best from that league can come over and join CSL if they want to. I think this will get us some better Gm's here in CSL. To check out the CSL2 site click here. I hope CSL2 will be a success and if you know of anyone who would want them to join that then let them know about the site. So there's a lot of new things going on the CSL but things will stay the same here. Sims are still every day and nothing new about that. Also if you are wondering how I'm going to run two leagues and worried that they both might die down because it might be too much work, well I just wanted you guys to know that if any league dies, it will be CSL2 to go first. This league is staying here for a long time. So anyways, I hope you like the new site guys. I will have new things up whenever I can to improve the league.
