Some of the The Traditional Norwegian Sweaters at Bea's Sweater Shoppe comes from a small town, Selbu, in a rural area of Mid-Norway.
The Selbu style of knitting started in Norway, in 1852 with mittens and socks, and in 1920 they began to knit the famous Selbu sweaters.
The Selbu Rose patterns quickly spread to other part of the country and grew in popularity. New designs were constantly being developed and hand knitted of the finest, washable, 100% Norwegian sheep-wool.
Based upon Selbu's original patterns, developed by Norway's top Designer, the collection brings Selbu's knitting traditions into our time.
