Dalesandro pool history

Our pool started in the year 2000 with 12 players, most of whom worked with me at Chartiers Country Club, and to this date is the most lop-sided season we've played.  Kim's (my wife) brother Gary who lives in Texas ran away with the points early on in the season and it took all year long before anyone even began to catch him.  He finished in first with a five point lead and a 67 win percentage.

In 2001 due to bad marketing of the pool (by myself), and the absence of the previous seasons winner,  we only had 8 players, but it was by far the most competitive of all seasons with 9 lead changes.  My father William SR eventually took a commanding lead with about four weeks to go, and was never caught, although my brother Tony came within three points at the end.  Bill SR finished with a 66 win percentage.

Last year we had our best turn out yet, with 14 players and the addition of some co-workers at Sherwood Oaks along with the old timers from the country club.  It was also quite a competitive year with multiple lead changes and a "down to the wire" finish, on Super bowl Sunday between my uncle Ed Dalesandro and myself, with the more knowledgeable (being me) taking home the crown.  Finishing with a 64 win percentage and a four point lead.

This year promises to be the best yet with a couple changes in the rules, offering more points for victories and a whopping 10 points for a super bowl victory.  Meaning even if you are struggling going into the playoffs, a good week can put you back into the money.

Hope to see you there....
