M4. New Focus On Predators
As the Alien presence continues to spread throughout LV-742, attention has been diverted to Bravo Squad's latest missions.
Bravo's two encounters with the armed Predator devices cannot be ignored.
While the devices' link between the Predator and the Alien species is unclear, Dr. Kadinsky believes they might have been a form of extraterrestrial cloaking technology and that they might have provided insight into how to control the Aliens.
Unfortunately, in its zeal to neutralize the situations, Marine Command ordered both Predator devices destroyed.
Based on the location of the two Predator devices that were destroyed, triangulation analysis strongly suggests that a third such device resides in this sector. You are to rendezvous with the Marine squad already in this sector and join the search for a third device. Recent intelligence reports indicate that the destruction of the other two devices has apparently caused some new terrain features to be exposed elsewhere on the planet. This latest development is leading Dr. Kadinsky to believe they contain some sort of cloaking technology.
THE THIRD PREDATOR CLOAKER
Objectives:
* Rendezvous with the other Marine squad and support their search for a third Cloaker.
* Search for the Predator Cloaker. When found, a Synthetic will be needed to manipulate its controls.
* Use a Synthetic to extract the Cloaker Control Pad.
Optional Objectives:
* Find the missing Synthetic.
Starting Forces:
* 800 Credits
* 1 CommTech
* 1 Synthetic
* 2 Infantry
* 1 Flamethrower
* 1 Smartgunner
Target Time: 21 minutes
Get to fixing the Atmo and wait for it to get you some credits so you can order more troops. Make sure to have Synthetics with you, as they help defeat those pesky Stalkers and other cloaked Predators. Send your troops southeast and you’ll find the other Marine squad has been slaughtered. Kill the Predators here and continue along. Head east and you’ll find another Atmo, and even further southeast, the damaged Synthetic you need to find for the optional objective. Conveniently enough, this Synthetic also gives you to coordinates for the Cloaker!
Now that it’s marked clearly on your screen, you can head right to the Cloaker. Max your troops out and head straight for it. It is guarded by several Predators and Predguns, but you should be able to kill them all and clear the area. Don’t destroy the Cloaker though! Send a Synthetic around behind it to collect the Cloaker Control Pod to end the level.
