Marine Walkthrough: Betrayal

-----------------------
Betrayal.
-----------------------

-----------------------
Date: January 6, 2231.
Time: 9:40 p.m.
Incident +6 weeks, 16.50 hours.
Mission Time: +16.50 hours.
Location: Forward Observation Pods.
-----------------------

Blackwell: Looks like the Pods are intact. I'm seeing survivors at the base.
Eisenberg: Gentlemen, welcome to the Forward Observation Pods.
Rykov: You took down our defense grid.
McCain: Your corporation decided we didn't need the complete details of your security protocols.
Eisenberg: We made alterations. You can never be too safe.
McCain: Apparently you can. Regardless, my men are ready to deploy immediately, if necessary.
Rykov: You are too late. We have repaired what can be repaired. Six of my men died today.
McCain: I'm sorry to hear that.
McCain: But the situation is contained?
Eisenberg: We're still assessing the situation. The Pods are intact, but we have teams in the field for biological and archeological research.
McCain: Even after what happened to the POC?
Eisenberg: This facility to self-contained. With security running properly, we're perfectly safe. Besides, we've wired the tunnels with charges. We can seal them remotely in case of contamination.
Rykov: Three teams still haven't reported. You may have killed more than we know.
McCain: We'll do whatever we can to get them out.
Eisenberg: We should move inside.
McCain: I'd like to re-establish our communication link with the POC.
Eisenberg: I'm afraid the landline was severed when the facility was overrun.
McCain: We've set up a booster transmitter in the tunnels. With your permission, my soldiers can modify your software to utilize our transmitter.
Eisenberg: Of course.
McCain: If you could lend us a terminal, Harrison here can perform the work.
Eisenberg: Technician Stiles. Please take this gentleman to the control deck. Assist him in any way necessary.

Rykov: Isolate the Marines' communication channels. We don't want them asking embarrassing questions of Pod personnel.
Rykov: You've prepared the rosters?
Ivan: Yes, sir.
Rykov: Will it hold up to investigation?
Ivan: Without bodies, who can prove where they died, in the tunnels as we'll claim or six weeks ago in the POC?
Rykov: We do what we must. Go then.

Weyland-Yutani Debriefing, The Incident. Appendix G - Major McCain's Log.
---
The good news: we have found survivors. Dr. Eisenberg and his head of security, General Rykov greeted us on arrival - only they weren't happy. Reportedly, Mother's virus didn't just take down the tunnel security. It also tore a hole in the Pod's defense grid big enough for a herd of bugs to run through. They've had fatalities in the Pods and lost contact with a large archeological team - two dozen scientists and laborers. I've offered to assist, starting with getting Harrison to restore contact to the Verloc. We may be needing her cold sleep chambers - for emergency evacuation.

* Proceed to communication terminal.

You begin this level with everything you had in the last level and 50 armor, but you won't have it for long! You can read the computer in front of you.

To: All Personnel.
From: Internal Security.

In recent days, we have detected a number of unauthorized transmissions emanating from within the Pods. Let me remind you that internal communication transmitters are the property of Weyland-Yutani.

All transmissions must be limited to the RF space specified by company procedure NL783. Failure to comply with NL783 is grounds for criminal prosecution.

You don't need any weapons in this part of the level. You can talk to technician Stiles here and he'll tell you where to go.

Stiles: Down that corridor on your right. Bear left at the junction. It's at the end of the hall.

Well listen to what he says! Go down the corridor to the right of Stiles, use the panels to open the doors, and go left when the corridor forks. This leads to the communication terminal.

Computer: System Access Console 872.
Harrison: Access transmission protocols.
Computer: Access denied. General transmission protocols require Alpha I clearance.
Harrison: Access landline transmission protocols.
Computer: Access granted.
Harrison: Reset primary transport route to V.290 booster protocol.
Computer: Resetting... Override access authorized. Incoming message.
Message: Rosters have been altered. Scientists already dead. Your team is in ...
Computer: Fatal data fault. Terminal failure. Shutting down.
Harrison: What the hell? I'm having trouble accessing the transmission protocols.

Dunya walks into the communication terminal.

Harrison: Hey. You startled me.
Dunya: I believe we have a problem in the transmission line. You'll need to interface with the root system. Please follow me.

Dunya and Harrison walk off, onto one of the hallways.

Dunya: It would take a cunning man to disable our security system.
Harrison: Yeah, well, that was Mother, not me. I was just following orders.
Dunya: I like brave men.
Harrison: Really?
Dunya: Men like my fiance, Dimitri.
Harrison: Your fiance? Man, my luck never changes.
Dunya: Don't worry. He is gone. He was outside the Pods when the system went down. A casualty.
Harrison: Oh. --- I'm sorry to hear that.
Dunya: Yes. Of course. I understand. I will be there soon.

Harrison starts to walk off. Dunya approaches him from behind and hits him with the butt of her gun, knocking him out. He wakes up on a bed, in a room with another man.

Convict: It's been a while since we've seen new blood around here.
Harrison: What? Where am I?
Convict: You just come out of cold sleep? What are you in for?
Harrison: Huh?
Convict: What crime were you convicted of?
Harrison: I'm not a convict. I'm a Marine.
Convict: Sure you are. And I'm innocent.
Harrison: I've got to get out of here.
Intercom: Attention security. Please escort Convict #16 to Prep Room B.
Convict: That's you. Boy, you must've really pissed somebody off. Out of the freezer and into the frying pan.
Convict: It's too bad we didn't have more time to get acquainted.
Harrison: Yeah, I'm heartbroken too.

Dunya and a Marine watch from a room above.

Dunya: No sedative for this one.
Marine: Yeah. Okay. Want me to let you know when it's done?
Dunya: No need. I will be in the observation room.

Dunya walks off and the Marine gets ready to enter the room and retrieve Harrison. The convict has a knife behind his back.

Convict: The guard's alone. Idiots. They're getting sloppy lately.
Harrison: Must have their minds on other things.
Convict: Their mistake.

The convict will rush at the guard with his knife. The guard will kill him, then turn to you. Run forward and quickly kill the guard with your knife, then take his Pistol. Since you're a convict now, they took away all your weapons and equipment. Now you have a new objective.

Weyland-Yutani Debriefing, The Incident. Appendix C - Training Manual.
---
Consider using convict labor when planning high-risk planetary developments. Contrary to popular legend, convict escape rates are uniformly low. Frankly, the convicts have nowhere to run, and given their steeply reduced penal terms, escapees are trading a few years of danger for a lifetime of incarceration. Naturally, escapes do occur - but seldom involving rational men. For this reason, escapees should be considered extremely dangerous. SOP is to terminate with prejudice.

* Locate your team.

Leave this room and take the lift up into another room. Kill the Marine here with your Pistol. There is an ammo box here that contains 10 flares and Pistol ammo. Head forward and to the right, use the panel to open the door, and enter the next room.

Intercom: Containment team report to cell block C.

Go up the ladder here and use the panels to continue up. At some point, a Marine will start shooting at you from below. You can ignore him, as you are too far away for his shots to be any accurate. At the top use the panel to enter the tunnel and head left. Use the panels to move forward.

Man 1: Pair off and search by twos. I want this guy found fast.
Man 2: Like we don't have enough problems already. We still havea bug running around somewhere on level 12.
Man 3: God damn Marines.

Wait and eventually an elevator will come down. Get onto the grate hidden beneath this elevator and ride it up. At the top, press the panel to enter the tunnel and head right. In this room a Facehugger will attack a technician. Go left to grab the Welding Torch and use it to burn off the lock on the panel in the ceiling in this room. Climb up the ladder and into the vent.

Scientist: Do you have the results on the test group yet?
Woman: Cybernetic rejection is down four percent.
Scientist: Slow and steady wins the race, right? At least it's improvement. That's human ingenuity for you.
Woman: Is it?
Scientist: What do you mean?
Woman: I hear this gear's derived from artifact technology.
Scientist: Where'd you get that rumor?
Woman: What if we're misunderstanding what it does? We could be putting ourselves in a lot of danger.
Scientist: No more than when we agreed to come here. Anyway, enough speculation. We've got another batch of data to go through.

Continue through the vent and you'll see more scientists doing experiments through the grate below you.

Man 1: Yes, coming along nicely.
Man 1: Testing pheromone sample four one five. Sample collected during specimen forray number forty. Introducing pheromone now.
Man 2: Specimen reacts with increased hostility and aggression.
Man 1: Reducing pheromone now.

Drop out of the vent to complete this part of the level.

Weyland-Yutani Debriefing, The Incident. Appendix G - Major McCain's Log.
---
Rykov assures me that the Pod's security hasbeen restored, yet the personnel remain nervous and edgy. I also heard warning klaxons periodically and reports that Deck 24 has been sealed due to an ongoing contaminant. Rykov explained that this is normal procedure. The floors are being evacuated and sealed until chemical treatments can be applied. No guards get hurt that way. Of course, this takes time. I pity the man who fails to get out in time. I can't imagine being trapped in there with one of those things - not after what they did to Hall.

* Escape the Pods.

Use the Welding Torch to burn off the two locks and enter the next room. Head left into the next room, there is a laptop on the floor here.

Date: December 3, 2230.

Implant victim is very strong. These Predators are hearty animals. Biology appears compatible with Xenomorphology. Gestation moving into final stages.
Chestburster already exhibiting unusual physiology. Look forward to seeing it full grown - behind glass of course.

Go up the ladder here if you need health, otherwise, continue along the hall. When the hall forks, go left. Use the panel to open the door, and in the next room you'll see a technician get pulled under the halfway opened door. He drops a laptop.

Date: October 16, 2230.
Weyland-Yutani Physicians Report.
Subject: General Vassili Rykov.

The General refused again to undergo a physical exam. I have reported this to Dr. Eisenberg, but he does nothing. I fear the General may be chemically dependent. He becomes jumpy and irritable on a regular cycle, disappearing momentarily to return refreshed. If I am right, his actions may place us all in jeopardy. The Doctor should act. In any event, I have voiced my concern - my hands are clean.

Go down the ladder here and open the door to the right using the panel. Go left when the hall forks, and near the next junction, a Predalien will drop down from the ceiling. Shoot it quickly, it's rather weak and your Pistol can kill it with only one or two shots. Go right at the second fork to the Surface Analysis Lab. To the right of the door there is a grate on the floor. Use your Welding Torch to burn off the lock and drop down. Use the panels to go through to doors, and enter the vent to complete this part of the level.

Weyland-Yutani Debriefing, The Incident. Appendix G - Major McCain's Log.
---
Harrison is dead. Rykov's lieutenant Dunya just delivered the news. In the aftermath of the bug attack, a convict laborer jumped a guard. Harrison walked straight into the fight. A flamethrower went off - then Harrison's ammo belt.
Somehow the convict survived. They are hunting him now. Dunya seemed especially intent on this. Obsessive almost. I shouldn't blame her. From what Rykov has said, she lost her fiance when we took down the defense grid. I hope she finds the escaped S.O.B. and kills him. Maybe that will bring her some peace.

* Escape the Pods.

Drop down out of the vent and into the Predator holding room. There is a laptop behind the panel to the left if you want to read it.

Date: December 10, 2230.

Surgery to remove forearm device has failed. Hard to explain. Medically, the specimen was very strong. Then, as the device was removed, pulmonary arrest occurred. Considerable evidence of tamper-proofing within the machinery, but what kind of society would prefer its soldiers to die instead of being disarmed?

Press the panel on the right to move the device the Predator is trapped in. He'll watch you as you drop down into the space behind him.

Man 1: There!
Man 2: He's in animal storage!
Man 1: Be careful, looks like he's armed.
Intercom: Containment team report to specimen area 4.

Use the panel to open the door here. There are some Pistol bullets on the tray here. The door opposite you may open, releasing some Marines, so kill them if it does. Otherwise, jump up onto the boxes on the tray, destroy the grate, and enter the vent.

Intercom: Attention, all personnel. A convict laborer has escaped from Detention Cellblock 4. He has killed several guards and one Marine. All other convict laborers have been recalled to detention. Any convict seen outside of detention should be considered armed and extremely dangerous.

Head towards the warning sign when the vent splits and use your Welding Torch to open the panel. You'll come to another grate.

Woman: You're trembling.
Man: I don't like these things.
Karl: You shouldn't. They're killers.
Woman: That's not helping, Karl.
Man: I think I'm just gonna go sit down for a minute.
Karl: They can smell you, you know. You can't hide from them.
Woman: Karl!
Man: You have to admire them, in a frightening sort of way.

When they are finished talking, use your Welding Torch to open the grate and enter the next room. Shoot the Marine here, Karl, and drop down. You can leave the technicians alone. Head to the right until you reach a small ladder, and go up it.

Comm (???): Soldier, in thirty seconds you'll be dead.
Harrison: What?
Comm (???): See that security camera over the door? I've rerouted the feed so only I can see you, but if I keep it this way for very long, someone's bound to notice.
Harrison: Who are you?
Comm (???): I need you to get me a package.
Harrison: I'm a Marine, not a delivery boy. Why me?
Comm (???): Because you have half a chance of getting it. I had to ditch it where I knew they wouldn't look, but I can't get back there. So you're going. Once you have my package, we'll talk about your team.
Harrison: I don't negotiate with corporate spies.
Comm (???): I'm not negotiating. Implantation lab number two. Down the belt, buddy.

There is an ammo box here with flares, as well as a laptop.

Date: February 16, 2230.

Weyland-Yutani Specimen Collection Report. Sixteen live eggs collected.
Team composition: six combat synthetics, four A5 models, one unimog.
Collection costs: two A5, one combat synth.
Note: material degradation has increased markedly in the last week. Egg collection will likely fall in the near term. Recommend tighter restrictions on approved studies.

You can also open the panels here for napalm and Pistol ammo. First, press the button on the belt relay panel. Then press the button that shuts off the specimen stasis. This will release some Facehuggers in the next room. Head back down the ladder and switch your Pistol ammo to armor piercing bullets. Outside you will see the technicians have been facehugged, and two armored Marines with Flamethrowers are killing the Facehuggers. Let them kill the Aliens first before you shoot them. Grab their Flamethrowers afterwards, but be wary of any Facehuggers they may have missed. Get on the conveyor belt you activated in the previous room. It will drop you in a misty room filled with Alien eggs.

Comm (???): Watch your step.
Comm (???): That's an egg pit in front of you.
Comm (???): The eggs are stored in stasis pools. Just don't get too close or they may wake up. The door across from you leads to another egg chamber. There's an override panel there you can use to disable the power. When they send someone to investigate, you can get out.
Comm (???): You know how to swim, right?

The Eggs won't open unless you get pretty close to them. Still, if you think you're getting to close to one, you can shoot them to destroy them. You have a new objective now.

* Activate emergency security override.

Stay in the stasis pool with the Eggs. You're looking for a small circular grate on the floor opposite you. Make your way past the eggs to this, which has a hole in the floor filled with water. Get out your Welding Torch and swim underwater. Swim down this tunnel and use your Welding Torch to burn off the lock on the grate. Then head right and up for air. Don't worry if you run out of air underwater, once the bar goes down, you just slowly lose health, not die instantly. Jump out of the water here.

Comm (???): See that panel? It'll override the security lockdown. Unfortunately, it also shuts down the stasis for the egg pits.

Pull the switch and you'll complete one objective, and get a new one.

* Return to the main lift.

Go up the ladder in this room.

Man 1: We just lost the stasis fields in the egg pits.
Man 2: It must be Kenji. This is his style.
Man 1: The transmissions have stopped. I can't triangulate.
Man 2: It's strange. He's been quiet since the incident, now this.
Man 1: Spies are like fleas. Hard to find, harder to kill.

Here, use your Welding Torch to open the ammo box for some Pistol ammo. Then head back down and into the water again, making sure your Welding Torch is still out. Use it to burn off the lock on the grate to the right. Head back for air before swimming through the tunnel, and at the end, where it gets dark, swim straight up, into the second egg pit room.

Man 1: The system isn't responding.
Man 2: Keep trying, God damn it!

Comm (???): Remember, the stasis fields are shut down, so run like hell.

That's good advice. This time, try to avoid the Eggs, but it's better to just do as the mysterious person says and run. Run for the platform here and use the ladder to get up on it, and kill any Marines here. Head through the open door on the right, then through the door to the left. Go up the ladder here and open the door at the top. In this room, you can open panels to find a notice.

To: Averil Monroe.
From: Dr. Berger.
I tried to talk with Eisenberg about this, but the topic left him quite cold. I'd guess he doesn't get along with his father, or dislikes his father's work. Sorry I couldn't help more.
----------
From: Averil Monroe.
To: Dr. Berger.
Your mentorship has been great, but the Hive is getting to me. I hear Eisenberg's father runs the Synth research for WY and that he's doing interesting stuff with neural imprinting into prosthetic limbs. Sight to the blind, hearing for the deaf - it's very exciting. Would you mind recommending me to the Doctor?

Continue through this hall and an elevator will open to the left.

Comm (???): Take the elevator up. You'll be able to get to the implant room from there.

Get in the elevator and press the panel inside to ride it up and finish this part of the level.

Weyland-Yutani Debriefing, The Incident. Appendix G - Major McCain's Log.
---
Ten minutes ago, Dr. Eisenberg's teams made limited contact with their missing team. They are alive, but isolated. Eisenberg's team is drawing plans for their evacuation now; I've put my soldiers at his disposal. Still, I am uneasy. Our communications are limited to our own radio channels. The Pod comms are isolated and encrypted - to deter industrial espionage - says Eisenberg. Apparently they had problems with sabotage as well - as if I don't have enough to worry about already.

* Escape the Pods.
* Locate Implantation Lab 2.

Press the panel to open the elevator door. Go left, use the panel to open the door, and go down the ladder.

Comm (???): Check the crew quarters. There's an emergency panel at the end of the hall. Override it and you can gain access.

Open the only door you can here and head left. Kill the Marines in this room then go through the first door on the left. Continue along until the corridor splits three ways and go straight ahead. This is Implantation Lab 2.

Man 1: Looks like it's trying to get out of the Pod. It's heading toward the main lift.
Man 2: What about the bug?
Man 1: They think it's near the artificial Hive.
Man 2: Why haven't they purged the specimens?
Man 1: Hell if I know.

You have a new objective now.

* Search sleeping quarters for security badge.

Use the panel to open this door and kill the Marines in the next room. You can search this room for Pistol ammo, Shotgun shells, and a computer you can read.

Missing Persons Report.
Archeological Expedition #425

Unexpected Xenomorph activity. They aren't usually active during the day.

Distress call received at 3:15 p.m. Dropship security arrived eight minutes later. Two synthetics recovered.

Alison Walker, Technician Class 1, Peter Graves, Technician Class 2, and Dr. Post, Research Lead, were not found.

Head back out into the hall and go right. Go up the ladder here, through the open doors, and into a new room with a technician. You can kill him if you want, but you're here for the hacking device on the tray. There is also a laptop there.

Date: October 2, 2230
To: Dr. Martin Sharpe
From: Dr. Eisenberg.

Your friend, Dr. Clements, wrote to me today. She misunderstands Rykov's importance and his cost. A policeman makes a fine bodyguard, unless you plan to rob a bank - and good bodyguards must be paid in one currency or another.
Control your team, or I will.

There's also a computer here you can read.

Date: October 2, 2230
To: Dr. Martin Sharpe
From: Dr. Betheny Clements

Dear Martin,

I had to write to you immediately. I think something is very wrong. My friend Adam Post was accused of misplacing, possibly stealing artifacts from his lab. I know he couldn't have been because he was with me at the time, but his IB card shows him authorizing their removal. He thinks that Rykov must be involved.

I feel uncomfortable going to Dr. Eisenberg about this, but I'm sure he's want to know. I think this is a serious security breach. Can you help?

Head back to the room with the ladder. Another door here can now be opened, so open it and go down the ladder in the next room. Go down the hall and look for a panel. When you find it, open it and use your hacking device to open the doors to the quarters. Search the rooms and a random room will have the security badge. If it's not here, it's on the other side, don't worry we'll get there, but check the rooms anyways for computers with information and ammo as well.

Comm (???): Now take that elevator down to the implantation lab.

* Take the internal lift down to Implantation Lab 2.

Ignore the voice for now. Explore the opened rooms. The first room has a computer.

From: Dr. Adrian Elliott

Your last note has me very worried. You're not describing the same man that I knew. Eisenberg wasn't calm or methodical - he was arrogant and cocky, took big risks with his father to back him up.

Other things, he was wimpy - got winded walking stairs. From your stories, he's been on serious vitamin regimens or something. Of course, people change when they go through things like Expedition One, but that doesn't mean you should work with them.

Just my free advice,

Steve.

In the next room there is another computer with some plot information.

Dear Alice,
In reply to your question, you know the rules - you may be my sister, but I'm sticking to public info. Safer that way.
Rykov used to be USCM - a General. Discharged after an incident on Korari - jungle planet. Messy affair, very badly injured, sole survivor. Told crazy stories about invisible killers. Lucky to get a medical discharge. Story is confused there. USCM docs say Rykov broke his spine - suffered paralysis - but later, when he pops up in mercenary circles, his back seems fine. As a merc, his record is great but violent. He's pretty free with looting too. Likes jobs where he won't be supervised and can walk away with a bonus. That last part is rumor though.
Quit that job and come home. I mean it. Now.

With love,
Your brother,

Nate.

Open the nearby grey door to enter the locker room and kill any Marines that might be in here. Open the lockers here for tons of ammo, health, a Shotgun, and a letter.

September 3, 2230.

I've been here three weeks. Inside the Pods, I feel like I'm on a research vessel in orbit around Earth. Nice and safe.
Sharpe has been kind since I arrived. Some things bother me though. I thought this place was strictly medical, but I wonder.
I've met a physicist, Adam Post. He said he was studying the relics of Zeta site, which I first took to mean the Pilot ruins that run everywhere beneath the surface.
He corrected me though - it's a younger species, he said. Certainly not indigenous with powerful energy technologies. He added that the tech was much more powerful than what he'd been building for the 'old wd'.
Then he blushed and shut up. I'm sure he meant Weapons Division. I think he wanted to impress me and then realized I wasn't supposed to know.
Still, he was very cute - so maybe I'll forgive his warlike tendencies.

There is also a laptop in a locker. Even though there is no indication of the author, you should know by now that it was written by Dimitri.

January 1, 2231.
New Year's Day.

Hung over. Shouldn't have admitted I've got doubts to D. She's touchy. Come on. Marriage is big, right? I should be scared. I'm making a big promise, I say. From her face, you'd think I said I wanted to have an affair or hire a hooker or something. Just nervous. I'll write her another note. She loves notes.

The Shotgun is a much better weapon than that crummy Pistol you've been toting, so switch to using that. Leave this room out of the door opposite the way you entered. Open the nearby panel and use your hacking device to open the doors. If you didn't find the security badge before, you'll find it in one of these rooms. Search them anyways for ammo, and of course, plot information. The first room has one.

Dearest Dunya,
My buttercup, my little muffin, sweetest of sweets, I missed you last night on patrol. At night, it is so hard to be without my angel. The thought of you arouses me. I shiver for you, yearn for you. My other-half. My devil. My mistress, and soon, my wife. Remember me when I am away, and think of what we'll have when I return.

Love,
Dimitri.

There's another computer in the next room.

Date: November 28, 2230

I tried to contact my brother at the Odobenus Station again last night. No luck. I'm not buying this bit about the weather scrambling all comm. Something's wrong at the POC - they're just not telling us yet.

Now it's time to backtrack to Implantation Lab 2. If you forgot how to get there, just head towards the circular room, which is where a door leads to the walkway, which will eventually lead you back to the room. Now the elevator inside will open for you, so enter it and use the panel inside to ride it down. Head forward.

Comm (???): The disc is on the table. Pick it up.

Pick the disc up.

Comm (???): Okay, now meet me near the exit lift. Once we make the trade, I'll help you find your friends.

You have another new objective.

* Return to the main lift.

There is also a laptop here if you care to read it.

Implant Accident Investigation 542
Dr. Sharpe Presiding

On the morning of October 4th, Dr. Betheny Clements failed to properly initialize the safeguard override system. As a result, a single Stage 1 Xenomorph escaped into the general implantation area.

Dr. Clements reacted to the warning klaxon too slowly. She is currently in cold sleep - however we cannot fully arrest the Xenomorph lifecycle.

Her family has been notified.

Backtrack to the elevator and ride it up. Kill the few Marines you'll encounter now in the halls. Head to the right and go up the ladder, down the hall to the right.

Comm (???): All right, looks like the elevators are back online. Hurry!

Head left to the elevator and enter it. Press the panel inside to get it moving. However, something stops the elevator.

Comm (???): Damn it. They've locked down the elevators. Can you hack that panel?

Of course you can! You have another objective now.

* Find a way out of the Pods.

Use your hacking device to force the elevator doors to open. Then use the panel nearby to enter the tunnel.

Comm (???): Uh oh. Something's wrong. You've got to get out of there.

Head through this tunnel to complete this part of the level. Long level, huh?

Weyland-Yutani Debriefing, The Incident. Appendix A - Summary.
---
McCain's log is complete through his departure from the Pods and the commencement of Operation Savior. Their exact time of departure is unclear, but it is painfully evident that a difference of mere minutes would have meant the difference for the team.

* Find a way out of the Pods.
* Locate your team.
* Find new gear; you're going to need it.

Use the panel to open the door.

Intercom: Medical teams, please report. Operation Savior is now at yellow status. All Marine personnel report to Major McCain for rescue briefing.

Kill the Marine in this hall and go right. Open the door using the panel.

Intercom: Security breached on Implantation Deck 3. Containment teams to their stations. This is not a drill. Security Omega is now in effect. Repeat. This is not a drill.
Comm (???): There's a maintenance passage behind those consoles. See if you can pry one open.

Kill the Marine in this room, then search the nearby panels for Shotgun shells and napalm. A panel to the right will open, revealing a niche.

Comm (???): You've got to get out of that Pod. Fast!

You can jump across the gap for armor, otherwise drop down. Head forward to the panel, open it, and use your hacking device. Drop into the next room and open the nearby door using the panel. Kill the Marines and continue down the hall. Open the door at the end and go right. Continue through the doors until you reach a long hallway, with an ammo box nearby containing Shotgun slugs and Pistol ammo. Go up the ladder here.

Comm (???): Head back across the skyway.

Go across the pathway towards Pod 3.

Comm (???): Be careful. The wind's pretty strong out there.

When you get to the end, save before you attempt the next part! See the tiny little ledge to the right? You have to walk across that! If you fall, you will die.

Comm (???): Try not to look down.

At the end, carefully jump up.

Comm (???): There should be a hatch there. It'll drop you down into a backup lift. You can get to the surface from there.

The hatch will open, so go down the ladder. Use the panel here to open the door and then go through the door on the right. There is some Grenade Launcher ammo in the box to the right, otherwise go left. Use the panel to enter the elevator, and use the panel inside to close it and ride it down. When it opens, go down the ladder here all the way to the bottom level.

Pilot: What the hell is that?
Man: Something's on the roof!
Pilot: Holy shit!
Radio: Dropship One, pull up immediately. Dropship One, report, over.

At the bottom, there are tons of weapons and some armor. Grab all of it to complete an objective, and now you are armed to the teeth! Kill the Marines here with your Shotgun, and make sure to grab a Pulse Rifle from one of them. Then switch to your new Rocket Launcher; it's time to try it out. The platform in the center of the room will rise up, revealing a man in an Exosuit, and you'll get a new objective.

* Kill the Exosuit pilot, Ivan, before he kills you.

He's not too tough. A couple of shots from the Rocket Launcher will take him out. You have one last objective.

* Use the primary cargo lift to escape to the surface.

Stand on the center platform to complete this level.. finally!
