Operation FAST

About FAST:
It started it's life as a 1980 MTD lawn mower.
First, we mounted a cable directly to the governor
and swapped the drive pulleys so that the little
pulley was on the engine and the larger pulley
on the transmission.

That wasn't the solution.

We decided we would mount a dirtbike motor in it
and spice things up a bit. First, deconstuction
started and we stripped the tractor of everything.
Then we did the frame work discused below and dropped
In the motor with the following specs:

Engine size: 360 cc
Engine make: Husqvarna
Cylinders: 1
Fuel: Gasoline/Oil Mix
Ignition: Magneto/Kick Start
Transmission: 8-speed
Hp: 38

Other Mods:
-Rear axle lengthened 2" per side.
-We added frame reinforcement where needed.
-We also removed alot of metal for weight reduction
and to fit the motor and shifter setup.

-Right hand shift, Right foot throttle, left foot clutch.

This is a picture of the tractor as soon as we took
the stock motor out of it. Hardly a race car.
Handled like a tractor. Slow and tired of
having the governor pulled wide open all the time.

This is a picture of the tractor after we got the new
wheelie bars on and 1 coat of paint on. The metallic
flames and the stickers are about 2 weeks away. We've
welded all the steering and suspension components to
take all the slop we could out of it. We test drove it
by pulling it behind a 4-wheeler and the newly welded
up chassis proved a success.

here's some new pics:

Future plans:

+ Build a highly modified race tractor with the
stock motor. Put some sort of boost, possibly supercharging
it. Using pipe, build an open exhaust system for
maximum exhaust flow.

+ Build a tractor with a 305 cid engine out of
a 1991 chevy caprice. Possibly Nitrious for looks and limited use.
