International Rescue was the name of the organisation and rescuing people was their game. They were the people you called when all hope was lost. When there was no chance that ordinary rescue gear could save the lives of those that were trapped, lost or in danger. Amazing machines, brave and skillful pilots and no-one knew who they were. The brave and noble Tracy Family, from their secret base in the Pacific - Tracy Island - were the people behind International Rescue. One dedicated Father - Jeff Tracy (ex astronaut billionare) - and his five sons, a brilliant Engineer called Brains, Londan based secret agent Lady Penelope Creighton-Ward, Kyrano - Jeff's faithful retainer - and his daughter Tin-Tin, along with Josie Tracy, grandmother to the Tracy boys are all that stand sometimes between those that would die and those that could be saved.
Five special boys, each with their own special parts to play and skills to bring to the organisation. Scott Tracy, the eldest, an ex-Air Force pilot and pilot of Thunderbird One. He's the first on the scene and co-ordinates all the rescue efforts of his brothers. Calm, controlled, handsome and protective of his younger brothers, he's a natural leader for the Thunderbirds.
John Tracy is an astronemer and used to work for NASA. Intelligent, quiet, thoughtful and always ready with a smile and a friendly ear for his brothers, he man's Thunderbird 5. A Space Station that monitors the airwaves for any call of distress. Speaking many languages and possesing the skills needed to run so many things at once, John is a natural for the space station. It also allows him to pursue his astronomical studies. A published author of four books, he is the most intelligent of the brothers.
Virgil Tracy, an engineer, is the pilot of Thunderbird 2 and like Scott, has been on every single rescue. The two brothers - Scott and Virgil - share an almost telepathic bond on rescues as they work so well together. A talented artist and piano player in his own right, Virgil is the soul and artist of the family.
Gordon Tracy is the joker of the family. A red haired terror that is part fish and pilot of Thunderbird 4, the ex-Aquanaut for the World Aquanaut Security Patrol (Another of Mr Anderson's creations - Stingray) he has also been through quite a bit. Suffering a horrifying hydrofoil accident that broke his back, he had to learn to walk again and with typical detirmination he did so. He shares a special close bond with his baby brother Alan.
Alan Tracy is the baby of the family but don't let the young looks fool you. A champion grand prix race car driver, he left an extremely sucessful racing career to join his family in their endeavours. Possing nerves of steele and reflexes to match, he also is a trained astronaut and shares Thunderbird 5 duty when John needs relief, but his primary job is pilot of Thunderbird 3. He is also pursuing - slowly - a relationship with Tin-Tin
For the moment, all the stories below are by Mouse. Expect some soon from some other fantastic authors.
The sixties were a turblutant time across the world. In those immortal words of Bob Dylon, the times were a changing. And then along comes Mr Gerry Anderson with an idea on doing TV show's using special types of puppets. He then invented a whole new ear of pupperty called Supermarionation. And quite a few shows were born and became cult history. One of these shows, and perhaps the most popular and most well known, was Thunderbirds. The premise of Thunderbirds was extremely noble and well thought out.
