Torn Curtain Ministries, Inc. is an organization devoted to teaching and discipling followers of Jesus Christ. Founded in 1996, Torn Curtain Ministries provides administrative oversight to a variety of ministries. Currently, we operate a community-based pastoral counseling ministry, Emmanuel Biblical Counseling Services, and Torn Curtain Productions, which is involved mainly with radio and media ministry. We also teach Bible studies, counsel people online, and provide speakers for special church services and meetings.
Torn Curtain's founder, Charles Rice, served in the youth ministries department at WCVZ Christian Radio (in Zanesville, Ohio) from 1991 to 2000, serving as the station's youth director for seven of those nine years. He is a seasoned minister with experience in pastoral and youth ministry, residential care (MR/DD), Bible teaching, and counseling. He holds bachelor's and master's degrees in Christian Counseling, and his associate's degree is in Biblical Studies. He is an ordained minister, Certified Pastoral Counselor, Certified Chemical Dependency Counselor-I (Ohio) and a Certified Biblical Counselor. He is a member of the International Association of Biblical Counselors, the American Association of Christian Counselors, the International Association of Pastoral Counselors, the National Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors, the Ohio Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors, and the National Network of Youth Ministries.
His wife, Heather, is also involved with Torn Curtain Ministries. She holds a bachelor's degree in Individual and Family Studies, and is employed by an area social service agency. She is a certified parent educator and is a member of the Ohio Association for Infant Mental Health and the National Council on Family Relations.
