Two other tournaments will be scheduled for 2003 and 2004 to build momentum for the full Student World Cup in 2005. The 2003 event will be a Great Britain student team verse the United States national student team. The 2004 tournament will be the "North Atlantic Challenge." This tournament will include the U.S., Canada, England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales national teams.

"We see this as an exciting way to showcase the sport of rugby league to the American audience," said David Niu, CEO of the American National Rugby League. "The international teams bring with them a tremendous source of talent and will make for exciting matches."
