We usually meet twice a year in London. Meetings are also occasionally
held at other locations in the UK.
Anybody interested in perfins is welcome to attend our meetings.
Our most recent meeting was the AGM in London on 12th October 2019, attended by 12 members. This was a lower than usual attendance, with several apologies received from members unable to attend due to illness or travel disruption.
It was announced that Rosemary Smith, who has been President of the Society since 2010, will be stepping down at the end of the current membership year on 31st August 2020. The committee invited Richard Husband to take up the role from 1st September and he has accepted.
Three members displayed GB perfin material at the meeting, including the following:
A Selection of Jute Industry Perfins on GB Stamps by Melvyn Green
Perfin covers with postage dues by Richard Husband
There are no firm plans for a meeting this year, due to the coronavirus situation.
London 2020 International Stamp Show
Date: Tuesday 22nd February 2022
Time: 2pm - 3.50pm
Venue: Business Design Centre, Islington, London
The Society has decided to book a room at the London 2020 International (now postponed to 2022) to publicise the Society by showing member displays and have volunteers on hand to answer questions, and of course for members to meet.
Meetings are a chance for members to discuss Society matters, to trade perfins and to chat about perfins in general.
Members are encouraged to bring along some pages of their collection, or anything else that might be of interest, to show.
The meetings are informal and all are welcome.
If you are not yet a member, drop in and meet us and find out a bit more about perfins and the Perfin Society.
