If you though a leader is born, you got to read this. A leader is made, not born,
as many believe. Each one of us can be a leader, just that we have to work towards it.
The modus operandi
1) Each one of us is a unique individual. Therefore our ways of achieving the same thing
might be different. However, a few basic guidelines will go a long way in putting you on
the right track.

So, who is a true leader? A true leader is one who would be able to guide others,
either by doing something himself or by directing a specific course of action.
In today's competitive world, enhancement of one's standing in the workplace depends
not on the number of years put in but on performance, on actual results.
If you are capable of outstanding work, your stature in an organization automatically
goes up, and there would be many who would want to emulate you. This attribute makes
you a leader in the true sense of the word.
Put in the right kind of effort in the right direction and a leader is what you shall
be. No one needs a formal title to be a real leader, for leadership is something that
needs to be developed on a personal level, if you want to succeed in life.
2) Always look for the silver lining. Follow this golden rule in any situation that you
find negative. People will love you for this!
3) Try and learn from an experience, focus on what went wrong and why, chances are, it won't
happen again. Evaluate each and every action that you perform.
4) Set realistic and achievable goals and plan the path to be taken for achieving them.
While doing so, focus on the task in hand and give it your best. While framing your goals
be sure and clear about what and why you want to achieve.
5) Know the value of discipline and truth, was Gandhiji's advice. An advice that will stand
all of us in good stead always. And accept responsibility for the consequence of your
actions.
6) Never do something that goes against your conscience. We all have basic values of honesty
and integrity. Many a time, it is this that singles out the successful leader from the
unsuccessful ones.
7) Develop the discipline to begin and take a task to its completion as well as you can.
A strong commitment towards achieving the goal: Look inwards, know yourself as a person
and give yourself whatever inputs needed to become a better person.
8) Motivate others to better their performance, not only at work, but at other places as
well.
Handle obstacles. What you need to arm yourself with is the attitude to think of ways to
surmount the blockage. It would be a good idea to visualize the task that you are about to
perform and then ponder on the possible hurdles.
9) Keep an open mind: You should always be receptive to ideas. You will be exposed to new
ideas that can be tailored and then implemented in your own surroundings.
