Those Coffeehouse Days...

"The last time I saw Joni was Detroit in '68...". It was 1966 when I first met Joni and we became friends. I played her intermission sets when she came to our coffeehouse, the Cellar, and we spent many hours, talking and playing our D-28s together, over the next two years or so and she even taught me some of her music. I count her as a good friend and mentor who cared about me, encouraged me and helped me along the road of life. Thank you, Joni, for all the beauty!

We were golden...

“Remember the days when you used to sit
And make up your tunes for love
And pour your simple sorrow
To the soundhole on your knee...”
