TShirt Design
Skill One: Color Schemes
My boyfiend had recently given me a slogan that I very much liked and wanted to incorperate in a tshirt. It said "You laugh at me because Im Different, I laugh at you because your all the same". In order for this to really make its statement on a tshirt, I had to pick the right colors. At first I started with the font being black except for different and all the same in different color so the would stand out. Now with different I choose Orange as it poped and was 'different'. But I couldnt figure a color to represent all the same, to leave it the same as the rest of it seemed to lack punch. So I decided to leave it black but make the rest of the font a navy blue so the orange would pop even more and the same would looks similar but still stand out.
Skill Two: Font Impact
Next to continue with the impact of those four words I thought different fonts were in order. I started with a graffitti font for Different but it seemed to hiphop which is what im trying to 'rebel' against. So I settled on a nice gothic font that was still readable. With all the same, I again didnt want to leave it the same as the rest of the font but didnt know how else to convey the feeling, so instead I went with a setencil font to convey that feeling of cookie cutter, all the same, replicas.
Skill Three: Sizing and Placement
Nexxt was the sizing and placement of the font. I decided to make the two different fonts larger so they stood out a little more. This is what the final product looks like.
