Youth Skate Jam was a fun filled day for everyone. Over 600 people attended from 11AM to 5PM and enjoyed skate/bmx demos, music from hip-hop to punk, the skateboard tournament, free skate time on the Skatewave Ramps, and great concessions. We were unable to close Youth Skate Jam with a concert from Building429 because of rain, but we were able to get Manna's last demo in which Jud Heald did a leap of fiath out of the parks half-pipe over 12 feet in the air with a full 180 rotation and perfect landing. Afterwards Jud shared his story of how God had used a snowboarding accident to get his attention, and led him to become a professional skater. Students & Athletes for Christ(SAC), The Pasquotank County Parks and Recreation Department, plus local sponsors put together Youth Skate Jam, to provide a fun event for young people that promoted the new skatepark, skating/biking, and SAC the opportunity to raise money for student mission trips.

SAC students from area high schools and Great Hope Baptist Church worked the consession stands to raise money for their summer missions trip with Teen Mania.
