WWF Wrastlers
Here's a shot of Hulk Hogan and his most hated rival, and
one time best friend, Andre the Giant. Click on the Hulkster's
picture and be transported to a great Hulkamania page!
Here is the Iron Sheik, the man who Hulkster won his first WWF
title from. His boots were all curly and silly, and he was
old as hell, but he put up a good fight in his day!
Rowdy Roddy Piper and Bob Orton were 2 of the most hated guys
in all of wrestling during the 80's. Piper's Pit was one of my
favorite shows. I especially loved watching Hot Rod smash Jimmy
"Superfly" Snuka's head with a coconut! And Bob Orton was
right there to protect Piper!
Here is that famous Superfly, flying thru the air. He was fun to watch
and fun to root against!
Jake "The Snake" Roberts was one helluva wrestler. My grandma
was at first petrified by the snake, but soon came to love Jake,
just like the rest of the family. He was pretty funny after
he kicked Ravishing Rick Rude's ass (may he rest in peace).
Here's Tito Santana. He never really made it to the top, but he did
manage to win the WWF Intercontinental Title, until the Honky Tonk Man
upset him by holding his trunks.
The JYD, Junk Yard Dog, was also one heckuva wrastler! I always
enjoyed him "grabbing those cakes" with that hilarious theme
music and and his snarl. I used to love "boogie woogying with the Dog!"
Randy "Macho Man" Savage versus Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat. What a great
feud! Watching Macho Man jump off the top rope and club The Dragon with a bell was
great to watch. Just think: Randy Savage could have been
playing baseball with the St. Louis Cardinals instead of entertaining
us in the WWF, and now in the WCW.
Here's a nice shot of The Dragon, all by himself. He enjoyed a lot
of success in the NWA as well.
In Wrestlemania I, this man, Big John Studd, put up $10,000 that no one
could slam him. And he was right, for a while. Eventually, the Hulkster
slammed him, as did the real giant, Andre the Giant, but nobody really
gave a rip about it.
Arguably the best WWF tag of all time, Bret "Hitman" Hart and
Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart, were fun as heck to watch. They were managed
for quite a while by the "Mouth of the South," Jimmy Hart, and held the
WWF tag belts for quite a while! I used to love watching them wrestle
every Saturday morning!
Last, but not least, is Jesse "The Body" Ventura. This guy
was so flamboyant, can you believe he's the governor of
Minnesota now?
