#32 Earvin "Magic" Johnson
No tribute to the Lakers would be complete
without first mentioning the "Magic" man! Earvin was the first "tall" point
guard, and was able to play all five positions for the Lakers. Unfortunately,
his career was cut short by his contracting HIV, but he is still a presence
in basketball, and in the world.
#33 Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
Kareem was known best for his "sky hook" at
the end of his career, and that's how I'll remember him. That, and his
3 pointer at the end of his last All-Star game. He made it, and with that,
summed up his great career with an All-Star Game MVP. Kareem was, and is,
my favorite Laker.
#52 Jamaal Wilkes
"Silk" Wilkes was nothing but money for the early Lakers. He was so smooth, hence the nickname "Silk." He averaged a nifty 17 points per game for the Lakers, and could always be counted on to come up big in crunch time.
