1984 Chicago Cubs

The 1984 Chicago Cubs were a fun team to watch, and you couldn't help but root for those lovable losers from Chicago! I even played my little league days with the Crivitz Cubs. What a fun time :-) They had 2 players who stuck out in my mind, and I still dream of pitching like Sutcliffe.

Ryne Sandberg

The "other" number 23 in Chicago-land, Ryno was a fixture at many All Star games during his prime. A rare breed of power, average and speed, especially for a 2nd baseman, Sandberg was a joy to watch.

Rick Sutcliffe

This guy had the weirdest pitching style of any player I've seen. He would curl up his hand behind his back before releasing a fastball. I always tried to pitch like he did, but without nearly as much success as he had.
