Gooeyism
A condition in which a fan fiction reader finds her(him)self so in love with a certain fic, that she/he becomes overly enthusiastic (i.e. jumping up and down, spinning in computer chairs, begging for sequels, and melting into a puddle of 'goo').
This condition seems to be contagious to a certain type of fan fiction writers/readers. This type is characterized as those in constant and close contact with the host (i.e. Joanna, aka JoeyRZ, aka Joey, aka Jo); those whose love of fan fiction reaches such proportions as to take over their lives (i.e. their lives revolve around fic, making time for RL around their cyber-personas); and those who have an overly 'perky' personality.
A non-terminal condition, it is fairly harmless, but once you get infected, it is a life-long condition; there is *no* cure... except, leaving fandom...
but then again, who in their right mind would want to do that!?
