Electric lover

Life doesn't feel like reality right now. It's like she's walking through things without really knowing she's there. There's a small tingle over her skin, an invisible mesh, like an electric buzz in the air that stings her, momentarily, and then she goes numb, and fade.

He whispered electronic words of love. It paralysed her. The static screen seizing her heart, and freezing her face into an anxious smile. He whispered laden words of emotion. And it scared her and ran shock waves through her nerves, drilling into a deeper space than the realm of souls.

A pair of lovers dance in an electric field. Magnet rods in their shoes, stuck to a path of destiny. Sound waves magnify around them, echoing stimulated melancholy notes. But their faces are turned, still and somber, their eyes drowned in their pupils, a tunnel of darkness.

Transfixed to a reality, yet living in a dream. She solidifies on the asphalt road. Twin beams pervade the irises, locking her glare. She sees him looking back. But he's transient and disappears. The metal buckles her knees, and she glides, in the air. A tumble against the ground, a split on the concrete.

They find her body lying there. A strange tilt of her lip, like a grin to her finder. Her eyes are open, fixed to something unseeable. They touch her, the body is cold. An electric fuzz from the charged night’s air surrounds her body. She lies lopsided, like a rag doll, once charged with life and energy, with pulses of electricity running though her nerves, the next, a stranded girl, motionless, numb, alone.
