I was the narrator for the February performance of "Into the Woods". What a fun role and a fun cast!

It's the tales of Cinderella, Jack (of Beanstalk fame), the Baker and his wife, Little Red Riding Hood, and Rapunzel, and about their journeys into the woods. And I told it all! One would think that it's a double-edged sword ego wise, getting cast as the biggest non-singing role. I took it as a positive thing. Ain't I the optimist?

You see, the Baker's wife (on the left) was searching out a cow as white as milk (it belonged to Jack and he was given "magic beans" for them), a cape as red as blood (Little Red's), a hair as yellow as corn (ripped right off Rapunzel's head), and now here she is haggling with Cinderella for her slipper as pure as gold. The Baker and his wife need these four items to life the witch's curse and have a baby.

And Rapunzel's Prince (a.k.a. Graham there in the middle) helped free Rapunzel from her tower, and when the curse was lifted from the Baker and his Wife, the Witch became beautiful again, and tried to reason with Rapunzel who, quite frankly, would not listen to it. So the Witch tried to use some reason, and discovered that, as is the way in these tales, in exchange for her youth and beauty, the Witch had lost her powers over others.

And Cinderella's Prince had discovered her other slipper and tried to use it to find her. After many exhausting and morbid tries, her found Cinderella and everyone lived happily ever after. Journey over, all is mended.
Ever After.
Oh, and home before...
