| This is one of the famous places for toursist to visit. Near Trabzon, along a valley river, this monastary was built around 9th cent. It remains today as a musem giving a serene experience not found in the likes of the larger bustling cities such as Istnabul, Ankara or even Trabzon. | |

| This is a fresco that was done in the 9th century. Today the main factor in keeping these beauties around is not weather but vandals. All the remaining frescos are gouged and written on by older visitors. Now there is more security and the site is being reconstructed. |

beating. This is not an uncommon site in turkey where
rugs are a part of the house. They are known for their
rugs and have excellent quality. we have managed to buy
a few ourselves.

| a view of sunset along the bosphous. This body of water separates the european and asian contenients. The history of this area is incredible and yet the area has a beuaty not found elsewhere in the world. |
