I like to use technology in the classroom whenever possible.   Since technology is becoming more prominent in every aspect of our lives, I believe it is part of an educator's  job to incorporate technology in the classroom. Moreover, technology facilitates a more conceptual understanding of the material that we teach.  I use technology in the classroom by:

1)    using the internet for data collection or research.

2)    using self-paced PowerPoint presentations (done individually) in the school computer lab.*

3)    using spreadsheets to generate data, make graphs and functions.

4)    using graphing calculators on a daily basis.

5)    using Mathematica for more complicated graphs and/or formulas.

6)    permitting students to see homework and quiz grades via a website I update bi-weekly:  www.angelfire.com/pq/erickson

*Below are a few of the PowerPoint presentations I have used in the teaching process:

a)        Understanding quadratic equations

b)        Use of Binomial theorem
