AHNCC is committed to values that enhance professional practice and contribue to competency in holisitic nursing practice. values such as integrity, fairness, excellence, innovation, holism, mutuality,empowerment, caring, healing, and transformation provide the basis for holisitc nursing prctice. These values provide a foundation for the Holistic Nursing Certification Examination.

 

National certification as a Holistic Nurse (HNC):
Validates knowledge and competency necessary for holistic nursing practice;
Establishes identity with consumers, employeers, colleagues, and surveyors as someone with credibility in the field of Holistic Nursing;
Encourages continued personal and professional growth consistent with Holistic Nursing; and
Provides documentation of knowledge and competence in Holistic Nursing in the form of an official certificate.

 

Nurses certified by AHNCC may use the designated credential HNC. This credential verifies that the individual has met all eligibility and testing requirements and is currently certified.

 

HNC's are responsible for:
AHNA's Personal and Professional Code of Ethics (AHNA.org);
Professional conduct as described in AHNCC's Professional Code (available in AHNCC Handbook and Application to Qualify for Certification Packet);
Notification of any information that might lead to revocation of certification;
Maintenance of continuing education record so that requirements can e verified at any point in time:
Notification of any change in name, address or telephone number; and
Submission of Renewal Application Packet within 60 days prior to certification expiration date.
