| contray to most our beliefs, there is (was) a santa clause. the famous st. nick lived in the town of Myra (the privous rock tombs are at the same town). It was after his death that this church was built in his honor. It has a strange mix of styles and is now only a tourist spot. He became famous-and later a legend built around him- for being generous to the poor. He would bring them gifts and often gave money to the poor fathers of daughters so that they could be married off. |
