| Here in Fethiye again: too bad this photo of the old crusader fortress did not come out too well. However, it gives you an idea of the wealth of history that is found here. This fortress is found just nearby a few more lycian tombs and about a 3 minute walk to the tombs seen on the preceding page. the number of different people that have been through here is amazing. It make the history of the USA seem trivial. |

| Fethiye: here is the ruins of an old roman theatre. These are many around this area. This one in particular illustrates that the past is still very much part of the present. Note that the top of the ruins are all surrounded by houses. the city literally grew up around all this! As with may of the greek and roman theatres, it over looks the sea (in this case the harbor) |
