Formed in late 1991 KATAKLYSM have been a force to be reckoned with since the release of their classic demo "The Death Gate of Reincarnation". In 1993 KATAKLYSM inked up a deal with German label Nuclear Blast and started their destructive path with their first release "The Mystical Gate of Relncarnation" which had an incredible impact in the underground metal scene. With the release of their 1 st full length album Sorcery in 1995 KATAKLYSM had the opportunity to tour Europe, Canada, USA and Mexico. In 1996 KATAKLYSM released the much anticipated follow-up to Sorcery, "Temple of Knowledge", another crushing album and perhaps the the worlds most extreme album ever recorded according to magazines and metalheads around the globe. (eg it landed at #1 on the year and best of list of Metal Maniacs editor Mike G.) Musically, listening to KATAKLYSM is like being sucked into the swirling vortex of a violent tornado and in this regard their brand new album "Vlotims of this fallen World" scores big points. Featuring spastic tempo shifts, discordant growls and extreme hardcore energy, "Vlotims of this fallen World" also features the tortured but tuneful lead vocals of founding member Maurizio lacono who's new vocal style significantly raises the worldwide potential of this highly original Canadian Hyperblast quartet.
