Started at the beginning of the decade, Peter Tägtgren created
Hypocrisy in response to the growing Florida death metal scene.
Although it started as a small solo project, eventually Hypocrisy
accumulated a full line-up and grew immensely in popularity. The
original Hypocrisy sound was somewhat typical sounding grind, but
throughout time they have evolved considerably. Their style still
contains incredible brutality, but now also utilizes melodies and
psychedelic passages. Unfortunately, this has also resulted in an
unwarranted reputation as a sell-out.

With the release of their latest CD, "The Final Chapter," rumor
was that Hypocrisy had broken up so that Peter Tägtgren could
pursue his side project, known as Pain. Fortunately, this decision
has been reversed and Hypocrisy is preparing for another release.
