SPOT-- New Member!

Spot's full name is Spot the Wonder Cat from Heaven Owen. She's guesstimated to be 14 and was a stray, homeless kitty when I found her. I had just started college, and was at an outdoor party. This cat kept trying to meet the guests, so I went over to her. She was so sweet and purry and she stuck to my side for hours (I was also slipping her treats because she seemed really hungry.) My friend who was hosting the party told me that this cat was homeless and had been hanging around the neighborhood for a while. People in the neighborhood were feeding her scraps, but she obviously wasn't getting too much nutrition. I decided right then to take her with me. We had to stop by the store right after the party to get a litterbox, litter, food, and cat bowls. Spot was my very first pet I owned as an adult!! The next day I took her to the vet to get her taken care of - she was very skinny and dirty. Poor Spot had ear mites, fleas, and worms - but we got her all spruced up and she moved in for good. She is the queen of the house, and has no fear of dogs since she has lived with a German Shepherd, a Border Collie, and a Doberman. In fact, everytime a dog moved in, within a week he would have what I termed "Spot's nosejob." A good swipe down the nose by Spot's sharp claws. The German Shepherd was so afraid of Spot that all I had to do was pick Spot up and walk towards him, and he would run away. If the dog was bothering me when I was eating dinner, I would just get Spot and plop her in the chair next to me and he would hide!! I guess her days on the street made her pretty fearless. She keeps Hope and Honey in line, though Honey tests Spot's patience, and has also sported a nosejob herself - but it hasn't stopped her from bugging Spot. Oh, and if you are wondering, Spot got her name because she is a "spotted tabby." I tried to count all the spots on her and stopped after I reached 100. She earned the title "Wonder Cat" because of her ability to outfox, outsmart, and outright bully big dogs. And, I consider her a little angel that found me when I moved to a new city, so subsequently she is "from Heaven."
