I don't blame your wife for complaining as it is a lot to keep up with.
If she only knew what it means to us all she would be so proud of you.
(Remember how ST's first wife felt about all the work of COBU though...
and be sure to buy her something chocolate...) I just got a letter from
Darlene (Bruce) Lavedure.  I haven't talked to her since 1987 or so when
our kids were small - except that now they just had 2 more daughters - 4
boys, then 2 adopted daughters when they were stationed in Turkey, one of
whom is deaf, then they got "the operation" reversed and now have a 2 1/2
yr old and an 8 month old.  She can't be much younger than me, and it is
painful just to think about that... We lived together in the Bronx
fellowship w/Mike Bove, and to think that she was brave enough to take on
a deaf girl and give her a good future is part of the heritage of the
Bronx fellowship where we used to sign at the dinner table.
Thank you for making it possible for me to find her, because I have
searched for her to no avail before when our Christmas cards came back
years ago.
Yes, I am trusting you with that Collage.  I also heard from Chris
Hirtler, who was the writer of the originial Christian Bros. song as you
know, and whose letter I saw on the site.  I will check out the site from
work again tom.(Wed.) Please pray for a good friend of mine, from my
church here, Kate Spencer. She is going in tonight for a biopsy of some
possible reoccurance of her cancer.  She fought it last year, (2 friends
of mine found out they had cancer at the same time, the other woman, Dee
is with Jesus now) and she has just gotten her hair about 3 inches long
now.  I hate to see her go back on the chemo.  Her adopted son is friends
with my Becky (12).  Thanks.  Jim is now teaching a small "cell group"
type Bible study in the home of our friends and it is going well.  It is
good for him to have "a ministry" again, and there is a new young guy at
his work that he is training so he has a "disciple" again in ways or at
least an "apprentice" and it is always part of his nature to be happiest
when he is doing some sort of teaching.  I think that is his best gift.
We have actually gotten letters from people from when he had his business
that thanked him profusely for his patience and teaching them skills they
can rely on.  I am doing well in the voicing part of my classes.  If I
can "see it" I can "say it" in well constructed English.  But I feel like
I am stuck about putting out the signing.  We are studying it so much
that I think about it too hard and it comes out spastic.  What used to
feel natural feels stinted.  I hope it is just a phase. Well, don't want
to make you read too much and make the wife mad... tell her we appreciate
her tolerance and it is doing a lot of healing and restoration of good.
Love your sister - Nancy
