"Now go to sleep, or the jesters will come and snatch you away to carnival town." These are the creatures of children's nightmares personified, Pack Jesters. Some say that they came to be when a small, roving pocket domain came to be under the rule of one known as Mariot. Others claim that it was a way for the demi plane to exercise physical influence. None the less these beings are very real and attack when least expected. Pack jesters appear as normal humans in carnival garb until close inspection. Their skin is of fine white cloth and past wounds are shown by the haphazard stitching which draws them closed. Their eyes are almost of a glass like substance and when pack jesters are wounded the leaf matter which composes their inards spills to the ground.
Combat: Their favourite tactic is to swarm their target, picking them up over their heads and carrying them away, never to be seen again. Pack jesters also enjoy 45% magic resistance and receive only half damage from bludgeoning weapons. The pack jesters weakness lies in its construction, when found in dry climates pack jesters suffer double damage from fire based attacks. Every three rounds, a pack jester may attempt to induce laughter (as per spell Tashas uncontrollable hideous laughter) Save vs. this attack is made at negative two.
Habitat/Society: Pack jesters (as their name suggests ) live in packs. They can be found anywhere. Some pack jesters live as loners, these few are shunned by those of the pack.
