Here is a list of things you will need to do this project:
Thin colored paper (notebook is ok, origami is best and prettiest)
Toothpicks
Scissors
White Glue
Small foam paintbrush
Needles and thread to make necklaces.
Wax paper or dropcloth to minimize the mess

Putting it all together:
Cut across the paper at angles to make long thin triangles. The wider end should be no more than one inch across. The narrow end should come to a point and the triangle should be about 8" long
starting at the pointy end, paint glue on about the first inch of paper
now grab a toothpick and wrap the triangle onto it tightly starting with the wide end.
Secure the pointy end with the glue you painted on there
Repeat until there are enough to make a necklace and string away!
Have a wonderful time!!!

Hints and Ideas:
Here's some tips. Construction paper CAN be used to make large bulky beads, but more glue is required. Wrap it around a pencil instead of a toothpick and string with yarn. This is nice for smaller children. Try it as a Christmas project and wrap them around your tree! Remember that the smaller you cut the wide end of the triangle, the smaller the bead will be. Try interspersing the paper beads with some 4mm gold or silver beads, just for fun. Hint for you, Grandma's love these when made into necklaces and bracelets.

I hope you have fun with this craft and let me know how it turns out. If you're having any trouble with it, let me know and I'll be glad to help you.
